Chapter 02:  Testing(03)

Matt cleared his throat. "It's your turn Mr. Kai Nakai.".

"Begin recording. Citizen Kai Nakai Attunement test record time 15 seconds. Initiate.". He said into his tablet. Then he set the orb on Kai's hand and moved his hand away.

A few seconds later a replay of a moments ago began with the testing orb once again blasting forth a blinding light. Only this time it shined with a light that was a pale silver along with a pale sky blue.

The room remained bathed in the light for 15 seconds before Matt spoke. "What the f**k… I mean… Congratulations S+ wind and lightning attunement…"

Mai looked at Kai smiling ear to ear. "Looks like you could go on your own too…"

Matt slapped himself on the cheek lightly. "Two in one day. This is insane. Two future S+ not just in the same decade but the same day,, in the same country, the same city… This is unprecedented… Ummmm…. I need to report this to my supervisor." He ran out of the door in his haste to report this event.

Everyone in the room stood there looking at each other. Mai looked at John and Kai. "Well, I guess ice cream is definitely in order."

Looking toward her daughter and son-in-law. "What do you two say?"

They stood there a moment still in shock by what they saw and heard. Then both slowly nodded their heads. Lina blinked then looked at her mom. "He said S+ right?!? My son is going to be an S+... OUR SON IS GOING TO BE AN S+!!!"

She grabbed Keme so quickly they nearly fell over hugging each other.

Mai patted Kai on the shoulder. As John and Supreme stood next to each other smiling, they both gave him a thumbs up.

Kai looked at his parents with a smile. Then a look of confusion appeared on his face.

The building shook, causing Kai to drop the testing orb. Before it could hit the ground, both Supreme and Bloodwind's eyes went wide and they grabbed the two children. Each one wrapping themselves and a child in a cocoon of lightning and wind respectively. Not a nanosecond(1 billionth of a second) passed before the building along with everything within 3 km was engulfed by a blast of heat and black flames that liquified steel and stone into flying particles of slag in an instant.

All that was left was a smoking 3 km wide .5 km deep cooling magma encrusted crater.

A man with an average but toned build floated 200ft above the center of the crater wearing a form fitting black full bodysuit and a white ceramic cat mask.

He looked up. Noticing two smoking figures 30 meters above him covered in lightning and dense swirling silver light. He immediately took off towards the north, blasting off at four times the speed of sound. Shattering windows in the vicinity until he got to a higher altitude.

After taking down the barriers they had surrounded themselves in, Bloodwind handed Kai over to Supreme. "Take the boys to get them checked out. I'm going to go…", she began. Looking at the two small children in the Supreme's arms she paused for a moment. "I'm going to go have a talk with that man. Be good for Mr. Supreme Kai. I'll be right back." Then after flying up above the surrounding buildings she blasted off to the north.

With a grim look upon his face he glanced around the area and then flew to the edge of the blast zone. Still holding the two boys who were at this time barely conscious, he landed next to a police patrol vehicle that had just stopped near the edge of the still smoking crater and looked into the window.

"The perpetrator is at least S rank. Bloodwind is in pursuit. Also there are 7 survivors badly injured. All of them are S rank so we'll need an S rank or higher healer. I think Typhoon is in Chicago. I'll contact him and tell him to go to Central City General hospital. Notify your superiors, they'll know what to do."

He then looked at a nearby street sign getting his bearings and flew off.

Landing at the emergency room entrance of Central City General hospital. He walked directly in and straight to the reception desk while people cleared a path out of his way. The nurse, without looking up, held out a form on a clipboard. "Please fill out this form and return it here, then we will call for you once it's your turn.".

The person standing behind her tapped her shoulder and pointed to the other side of the counter. The nurse looked over her shoulder then, noticing the panic stricken look on her co-worker's face, turned her head to see what she was pointing at.

Seeing a disheveled Supreme with still smoking burn holes on his clothing holding two small unconscious children she quickly stood up knocking over her chair. Pressing a button on the counter.

"Active Hero emergency in the waiting area, at least two casualties." rang out over the intercom.. She then pressed a large square button on the wall causing the set of double doors to open. Four people wearing scrubs came rushing out with gurneys, placing the boys on one each while checking their vitals.

A person wearing purple scrubs quickly came over and waved their hands that were glowing with blue light over the children before sighing. "They appear to be stable. Run a full diagnostic just in case.".

The others quickly took the boys further back into the emergency room. Looking at Supreme the woman in purple said, "I'm Dr. Harvey. The children will be fine. Are there more incoming?".

Supreme looked at her. "At least seven S ranks, maybe more. Everything within a few kilometers of the testing center is nothing but a crater. I need a phone or comm device so I can contact Typhoon. He's a S+ ranked healer.".

The doctor turned to look at The nurse at the reception counter. "Karen, let him use your device.". The nurse took her wristphone out of a desk drawer and handed it to Supreme. Taking the phone he proceeded to dial the number from memory.
