Bitten

Fablo waved his weapon backward, slamming it into the chest of a zombie that had jumped at him from behind. The nails on the bat tore off a part of the zombie's rotten skin, flesh, and bones. Causing green blood to spill onto the ground along with rotten innards and revealing the zombie's virus box.

Sadly, zombies were unable to feel pain or fear so that hit still did not stop the zombie as it quickly got up from the ground and rushed toward Fablo again with its arms spread wide open and a growling sound coming out from its terrifying mouth.

Luckily for Fablo, that strike just now had thrown the zombie back a little bit and bought him enough time to defend against the other zombies so he would not get ripped apart before he realized it. His attacks had no fancy moves like technique or pattern nor was he learned in fighting skills, he was only a security guard after all and all his attacks depended on brute force while he used his only advantage over the zombies to close the gap of numbers. His brain, he could still think with his brain which was something the zombies were unable to do.

Even if he did not know any fighting skills, he could see the zombies move and think of ways to deal with them on the spot without getting overwhelmed.

Fablo suddenly bent over a bit and rammed his shoulder forward as a zombie suddenly collided with Fablo's shoulder, the hulky man stood up with so much force that he threw the zombie behind him with astonishing strength as if he had tossed a row of toilet papers.

The zombie did not fly as far as expected but instead collided with another zombie that was staggering toward Fablo from behind, both zombies fell to the ground and were about to crawl back to their feet again but Fablo did not give them that chance.

He dashed towards where they were entangled and brought his weapon down on one's head while he stumped the head of the other one, crushing their heads instantly. His boot was immediately covered in the disgusting green blood of the zombie and so was his nail-covered bat but Fablo did not have the time to think about that at the moment as another two zombies were already upon him and they were already so close that his bat would not be able to make a complete trip for the two.

He gritted his teeth and sent out a fist with all his strength, bashing the face of the closet zombie. The punch was so strong that the neck of the zombie strained back, the flesh of its neck exploded and its head was sent flying.

Growl!!

The other zombie was blind to the death of its own and only had its focus on Fablo as its teeth hungrily snapped at him. Fablo hurriedly turned and pushed his weapon between his side and the zombie, hopefully blocking the rabid flesh eater for a few seconds.

The zombie ran into Fablo's weapon without care for the nails that were scratching its flesh the blood oozing out of its body; it was already bloodied after all.

Fablo was not able to maintain his footing as the zombie had hit him with so much force from the side and he was not standing properly for such a clash, both of them ended up on the floor with Fablo being under the zombie while the zombie tried to get its head past the bat and get a bit of Fablo's flesh.

"Fuck!" Fablo cursed while gritting his teeth, the zombie was right up in his face and he could clearly see the inside of its mouth and the vivid image of its snapping teeth. Green blood and disgusting slimy liquids splattered all over Fablo since the zombie swore to not close its mouth, what was even more disgusting about the situation was the stench coming from the zombie's mouth; Fablo was on the verge of passing out from the smell alone, thankfully, no other zombie approached him during his struggle with this one.

Any other person would have been long dead by now if they were in Fablo's place as zombies were known for one other advantage over normal people and that was their absurd strength, but Fablo was somehow able to match this zombie in that aspect as he managed to prevent his weapon from being pushed away.

The zombie trashed above Fablo for a few seconds without any fruitful results before suddenly looking down and biting on Fablo's hand that was holding the bat.

Fablo's eyes flashed and he gritted his teeth to prevent himself from letting out a sound, his mind racing at the thought of others finding him like this.

'No, I can't let the others see me like this!' Fablo shouted in his mind and was about to grab the part of the bat that had nails plunged into it with his hand since the zombie was still trying to bite off the fingers of his other hand.

At this moment, a sword light flashed behind the zombie, and its neck was cleanly severed as its head disconnected from its body. Fablo was suddenly covered in green zombie blood as the head of the zombie stuck to his hand since the damned thing was still biting at him before its sudden death. Standing above Fablo and the detached zombie corpse was the woman who used to be a dojo instructor, her face was covered in sweat and her hair stuck to her face. Green blood stains covered her hair and clothes but her face was indifferent to any of these as she wore a cold expression that made one wonder what she was thinking, only the slight folding of her eyebrows and quivering eyes revealed the exhaustion and tiredness that she was feeling.

"Are you hurt?" She asked Fablo as she swung her sword to remove the zombie's blood on it.

Fablo waved his hand and threw the head of the zombie away before getting up, his body was bathed in the blood of the zombie which provided a good camouflage for the bite wound.

"Of course not, these princesses are not enough to hurt me," Fablo said with a smug grin on his face.

"Good then, you should help the others before they get bitten," the woman said before dashing away to provide help to another person. She swung her sword along the way and the head of another zombie flew into the air with one strike of her sword.

Fablo did not stay still after getting help from her and immediately left to help as she had suggested, the number of zombies had reduced a bit and luckily, none of them were dead as of yet.

Fablo ran towards a woman who was cornered by three zombies and was frantically waving the steel in her hand to push the zombies back, she waved it at a zombie that suddenly jumped at her and her steel stabbed into the neck of the zombie. While she managed to stop the zombie's advance but ended up in a worse situation. Her weapon was stuck and she could not use it to defend herself anymore, worse even was that the zombie was forcing itself towards her despite the steel that was stabbing out through its neck and the other two also lunged at her at the same time.

A terrified scream escaped her lips as she shut her eyes tight with small drops of tears already streaming from the corner of her eyes.

"No, no! I don't want to die! Go away, somebody help me!" She screamed but did not dare open her eyes, afraid of seeing the disgusting faces of these monsters before they tore her to pieces.

But the pain of her flesh being torn and shredded did not come, instead, she was suddenly covered in hot liquid that completely bathed her from head to foot.

A low sigh entered her ears as someone had just let out a breath of relief, she hesitantly opened her eyes and saw Fablo looking scary since he was covered in green blood but the woman had never seen him in a more pleasing way ever since he had saved her the first time.

She looked down and saw the three zombies lying on the ground with their heads smashed to bits probably by Fablo. It was at this point that she realized that the warm liquid that she was covered in was green zombie blood. She did not feel disgusted by it but instead felt relieved that it was the blood of the three zombies that were about to kill her.

"Are you alright?" Fablo asked as he extended a hand to help her up.

The woman nodded and took his hand, Fablo did not say another word before going to help others.

Meanwhile, the man who used a nail gun at the start of the fight was struggling with four zombies. He had already thrown away his nail gun and was now using a piece of metal strap he had picked up but the thing was too huge for him to swing around casually causing him to be in a difficult situation against these zombies.

He caught sight of Edward standing motionless as the battle unfolded in front of him, he could see the terror in Edward's eyes so he understood that the kid was simply shocked, too shocked and scared to even run.

'But standing around like that in a place like this will end him in trouble'
