Changes

Currently, Edward's black hair had grown quite a bit and he had to tie it at the back of his head with a piece of clothing. He also now appeared to have grown taller and his muscles had become more visible, his face had also changed a bit and he looked more handsome compared to two months ago; one might have the urge to ask what he had been eating lately because he was becoming more good-looking instead of worn out and tired like the others.

Edward currently looked like a young master who had just gone through a tribulation, coupled with his long hair that reached his neck and his new aggressive fighting style…even Lia was slowly losing interest in taking revenge against him.

"Hehe, see how pale you have become just from these few zombies, you look like a ghost" Fablo's loud voice came from up ahead. Edward lifted his head in time to witness the sight of Fablo bashing a zombie's head with his bat before slapping another one's head off with his other hand.

His current fighting style was no different from before, rather he had become more brutal after getting more familiar with his abilities. He also did not decide to change weapons when White Fang offered for them to equip themselves with better weapons.

The two of them together had cleared this place that had over fifty zombies, some abnormal zombies were still there as well but the two of them easily defeated them.

Of course, they would only fight like this when they are alone and would fight more modestly when around others.

Edward took a deep breath and pushed himself up to his feet, his huge kitchen knife in one hand and his other hand covered in green blood.

"Who's pale like a ghost? Their stench is just too strong that I want to pass out" Edward complained in response with a disgusted look on his face.

Fablo suddenly threw his bat at Edward, Edward did not flinch as the bat missed him and flew by his face.

BAM!!

The sound of the bat slamming into something sounded, Edward looked back and saw that the bat had landed on the face of a zombie behind him, shattering its skull upon impact.

"Are you sure about that? That zombie almost caught you" Fablo said as he retracted the hand he used to throw the bat.

Edward turned back to face him and threw his kitchen knife as well, the knife flew by Fablo's face and cut some of his hair but Fablo did not move.

Thud!

A soft sound came from behind Fablo as a zombie with a kitchen knife in its forehead fell to the ground, Edward had killed it with one hit.

"I could say the same for you," Edward said while giving Fablo an 'I saved you too' look.

Fablo shook his head and let out a chuckle before turning to pick up Edward's knife.

"I obviously smelled it behind me, I didn't move because I knew you were going to kill it," he said with his back facing Edward.

Edward rolled his eyes while retrieving Fablo's bat "Yeah yeah, you're always right" he responded and the two of them laughed.

Step step step!

Sounds of approaching footsteps came from outside and someone soon appeared in their vision after a few seconds. It was Priscal who was holding a long metal pole with a small knife attached to its tip to act as a spearhead, she wore a pair of short jeans and a crop top underneath the shorthand collar shirt which she tied its edge under her breast.

She looked battered with sweat and green liquid all over her as she glanced at the two and then at the numerous zombie corpses scattered around the place.

"Sir, if you two have enough time to be laughing over here, then you should come to help out with the rest of the zombies," she said to Fablo before dashing past and heading back outside.

Fablo and Edward stared at each other wordlessly before going after Priscal. These ungrateful bunch, the two of them had cleared most of the zombies in the underground parking lot yet they still wanted them to help with the few that had chased after the others outside.

They still decided to help regardless, it was better they outnumbered the zombies instead of the other way around.

...…

It was sunny outside as the sun hung high in the sky and bathed the air in its radiance, letting out a soothing warmth that would make one's nerves calm. The wind was cooling as well and strangely refreshing, it did not carry the usual stuffy and disgusting stench of blood and decayed bodies of the zombies.

Edward took a deep breath, feeling elated. For the first time in two months, he was finally able to take in a mouthful of air that did not carry the horrible stench of the zombies, even though their corpses were littered around the place after the 'clearing'

He was currently sitting on top of a pile of rocks under the sun, his slightly long hair fluttering behind him with the movement of the wind. The others, including White Fang's people and those from Fablo's shelter, sat not far away from him. They were all looking exhausted and covered in green blood, they looked fearsome under the sunlight as they enjoyed the cool breeze while resting.

Edward swept his gaze across their faces, his eyes fell on Lia and he hurriedly looked away seeing that the woman was glaring at him. But that wasn't the point, Edward was currently in a strange state of mind as he watched the people currently sitting around him and then thought back to all that had happened ever since he met them, no, it should be all that had happened since the zombie outbreak three years ago.

Managed to escape the university three years ago, surviving day after day in a world that was collapsing with death casually waiting around every corner. Meeting his first group after almost all of them who had survived the university had almost died off, getting bitten by that female, gaining these strange abilities, and meeting Fablo.
