A cure and a surprise

Sun's POV

I knew something was wrong when her body relaxed.

'Why isn't she in pain?" I asked Mitch.

'I don't know. She isn't in contact with her wolf either.'

I looked from Moon to Alex, expecting to see him pacing. He was just staring at her, teary eyed.

"You okay, dude?" I asked.

"What did you mean by 'We can't save her', Sun?"

I knew he question would come eventually. I looked away from him and back at Moon, only to collapse onto the floor. I felt weak, scared, broken.

'Mitch be careful! It's reaching her brain!'

'What do we do, Sun! We can't lose her too!'

Alex helped me up and I gave him a look of sadness.

"What's wrong?" he asked.

"It's reaching her brain..." I replied.

"What is the cure?!"

I could tell he was frantic to save her. Clearly there mates.

"True love. That's the only cure. but..." I answered.

"But?" he replied.

"She gave up on finding true love and loving anyone when our parents died."

Moon winced in pain. I grabbed my head, feeling my wolf cry out in pain. Moon was dying and we can't save her.

Alex's POV

I stared down at Moon. She looked so peaceful, like she had already died. I saw Sun's eyes droop closed. I laid him down onto the bed and covered him with a blanket. Then I grabbed a chair and sat next to the bed. I took Moons hand in mine. When our fingers touched, I felt weak sparks. That proved my worst fear to be true. My mate was losing her life force. I held her hand as I drifted off to sleep.

Moon's POV

I was awoken from my slumber by a warm, tingly feeling on my hand. When I looked down, I saw that my hand was glowing. Surprised, I jumped back, placing my hand on the thorny vines. They immediately disintegrated on contact. I feel out of the cocoon as the vines creeped back into the ground, where they came from. With a newly found strength, I went over to Star, touching the vines. Like before, they disintegrated on contact. She fell into my arms.

'OMG! Thank you ! Are you okay?!'

'I am fine. This is weird though.'

I held up my glowing hand.

'Do you know what this is?' I asked.

'Nope! But thank god it came when it did!'

'Yeah,' I whispered, staring at my hand before letting the darkness consume me once more.

Alex's POV

When I awoke, hours later, I noticed the wolf-bane affected area was subsiding.

'What in the world?!' Sam said.

Then I noticed her color come back. I gave a sigh of relief. She will live. When she gripped  my hand, I was very surprised. I got kinda scared when her grip loosed but, then I realized she had actually fallen asleep.

"Goodnight beautiful," I whispered to her as I kissed her forehead.

Then I turned off the lights, closed the door and went into the living room to watch some TV. Before long, I had fallen asleep.
