Lifting the pendent, I felt a surge of power flow through me.

'Hello, child.'

A new voice rang through my mind.

' Who are you?'

'I am your mother. This is what I meant. That pendant was made from my soul, so I can help guide my child. This does not happen very often, so I need to keep you safe.'

I knew that this pendent would come in very handy. Doing as instructed, I put it on. Like my mother said, it melted and molded my body and fur.

'Ooooooo. Nice new bling. Me likey,' Phoenix said, prancing around.

I couldn't help but laugh at her, prancing around like a pony.

Now, to go find my mom…

Ezera's POV

After wandering through the forest for what seemed like hours, I decided that we needed to rest. Looking for a stream, I ran into a human. Deciding not to draw attention to myself, I stopped walking.

The human snapped their head in my direction and cowered onto the floor.

"Alpha," he said, bowing his head.

"Why are you wandering in the rogue territory?" I asked, shifting back into my human body.

"I am looking for someone, alpha."

"Who may I ask?"

"My sister."

"And why has she run off?"

"S-she didn't sir. I followed a doe into the forest."

Confused, I asked," What does a doe have to do with your sister?"

"My sister, she is very injured. Her wolf told me to follow the doe because she will lead me to someone who can help her."

As he said the word injured, he cringed and sighed.

Deciding to ignore that, I just sat down next to the stream, for we had been walking and talking. I motioned for him to sit, and he followed suit.

" Well, I am following the scent of my mate. Even though I felt that she had died, my wolf is telling me otherwise. Her scent is super strong, it is as if she was standing right next to me."

After telling him my reason, he sat there, shocked.

" So, y-you're her mate? I am gonna die… shit."

"What do you mean? Were you looking for me? Mate?"

" You are my sister's mate…"

Surprised, I stared at him in shock. His sister was my mate?!
