Chapter Twenty Eight

"Should I write a speech?....no no. That would be too weird" Anna said crumpling the paper in front of her.

"Err....Anna?, I still feel that this isn't a good idea" Chesa said massaging her aching temples, this girl was going to end up getting hurt at this rate.

"Why is that?" Anna asked although she didn't care for the reason, she had already made up her mind. She was still scribbling on the blank page in front of her, trying hard to think of the right words to put down.

Chesa fixed her glasses and spoke up "You'll get rejected!" She said it straight, if she didn't tell the girl now. When it happens she would seem like a bad friend.

Anna nodded indifferently "At least I will get to tell him" of course Anna didn't have any hope, she just wanted to tell him. She felt that if she didn't it will be like carrying a heavy burden. She had to tell him, she had to know where she stood. She felt that one she told him, even though he accepts her or not…she will finally know how and what to feel when she is around him.

"Anna, you should know.....Dylan.....he is really cruel when he loses his temper, if you do this now...God knows what will happen" Chesa said the last sentence in a low voice.

" I remember the last time Dylan got angry in front of everyone. He hit the man that tried to raid the Base till he almost dead and people had to hold Dylan down to prevent him from causing anymore damage"

"Are you saying Dylan is going to beat me up?" Anna asks with a raised brow.

"Of course not! He would never raise his hand against a woman"

Anna shook her head "Don't worry, I know. Su Chen has told me about Dylan's anger tons of times. If he rejects me then, life goes on" Anna said before leaving the room.

"Chesa groaned in annoyance and frustration. "This girl!....Dylan isn't as good and perfect as you think" she said to herself. That man was not who every one thought he was....

Chesa felt her back drenched in cold sweat just at the thought of what happened to that woman after she betrayed him.

To her, Dylan was a monster she was afraid of, she couldn't speak a word about him or his past because of her fear. Now she was worried for that girl, it might not seem like a big deal to Anna but Chesa knew what might happen....

.....

Anna found herself on that familiar path to Dylan's house.

Her palms were sweaty and her finger pressing the button on the wheel chair had lost its strength.

If she told him her feelings today, she should definitely forget about their relationship being the same as it used to.

If he accepted her, she would definitely be the most happiest person on earth.

Although, if he rejected..."Wow" Anna said to her self, she had been standing in front of the door for quite a while now. She stared at the familiar door handle, she had been here countless times before but this was different. She could not bring herself to open this doors.

"Screw it! if its meant to be...it will" Anna whispered to her self before opening the door.

....

"You're leaving?!" Anna was surprised to hear this, she didn't think her brother would plan to leave this soon but now that she though of it, he had spent almost a few weeks here already.

"Anna I know its sudden but, I was about to go tell you." Nathan said smiling at Anna.

"Why do you have to go?, you can still stay here. Or is it me?"

"No, no Anna, its not you" Shola said putting her hand on the girl's shoulders.

"The thing is, Ella has to go back to school and well, there's the company and my studio. Now that everything is settled, we will have to go back to tend to those things"

Anna sighed, of course she knew that. It was just that they were her family, her real family!.

She couldn't bring herself to let them go, she knew this moment was going to come but now that it did, she didn't know what to do.

"You are always acting like a grown up, now look at you" Nathan teased the girl trying to cheer her up.

Anna stared at their luggage deep in thought before looking up and Nathan.

"You all have to promise to take good care of yourselves okay?"

Nathan smiled brightly, of course he was hiding his true emotions, he wanted nothing more than to bring his sister back home with him but, when he brought it up a few days ago she dismissed the idea immediately.

"I will miss you Aunty Anna " Ella said with a sad voice, Anna looked at the little girl and her eyes began to tear up.

She had spent so many days with this girl that she was already attached to her.

"I will miss you too Ella, very much" Anna forced a smile patting the girls soft hair.

"Anna, I promise, when next I come to visit...I'll bring our mother with me, ok?"

Anna nodded, she hoped he would keep his promise. She wanted to meet her mother, she wanted to know her and she also wanted her to know that she was alive.

As Anna watched her brother leave, she felt drained of all her of strength.

She was sad, and for the first time, everyone in base could see it. That sad expression tugged on everyone's heart strings, Anna always smiled when she was out but today was an exception.

Anna didn't actually notice that Dylan was the person who walked her back to the dorm.

When they were in front of the room, Dylan patted her head softly "Don't be too sad okay?.....You still have me here hmm?"

Anna looked into his eyes, her heart began to beat faster when she heard those words 'You still have me....'

Of course, she still had him....does she really?

"Dylan?"

"Hmm? what is it" Dylan said smiling, his smile soon faltered when he heard her next words

"I love you!"
