Hermione Granger

Standing with his hands in his pockets, wearing a robe with golden stripes, a man stood on the ground with a scowl.

"Can you repeat that Mrs. Macmilian?" said the golden-eyed man, squinting his eyes.

"Minister Fudge suggested holding a Triwizard Tournament to make the wizards excited about Hogwarts again whilst also helping the wizarding world after Dumbledore's death." said Pippa Macmillan. She studied in Hogwarts as a Gryffindor and now got the position of School Board Governor from Lucius Malfoy, currently serving his time in Azkaban.

"Don't you think it would be… contradictory, as many would believe we are celebrating? And with an Obscurial on the run, wouldn't it be bad to bring more spotlight on Hogwarts?" said the same man, with a scowl that hadn't left the man's face.

"We are sure it would bring more popularity to Hogwarts, which can increase student count. And Lord Black… we have confidence you can handle any problems" the wizard sitting next to Pippa was getting impatient at the questioning Asura.

A harsh breath came from Asura, making the wizards stiffen unknowingly.

With eyes constantly shining the color of gold, Asura said "{Hypnosis} Very well. But I still think next year will be better."

A little girl with messy brown hair and large ground glasses was in the corner of the bathroom stall. Her shoulders were slumped to the wall as she shook, wiping tears from her eyes.

"Is Professor Black already teaching the Patronus charm for the third years?" said the girl while applying some powder to her face.

"Humm-Humm… Yeah, he taught us in the class today," said the newly arrived girl.

"But a bitch… was showing off in our class trying to get extra classes with Professor Black, " said the girl, her jaw clenched as she thought of the annoying bookworm in her class.

"Calm down, Pansy… I bet she has no friends," replied the girl, seeing her friend close to exploding.

Pansy's eyes have lost the flare. With a loud laugh, she said "Haha… Yeah, I heard someone placed a dead rat in her hair while she was sleeping… Haha... And the person was the same House as her Hahaha"

The girl couldn't keep her mouth from twitching as she thought of someone placing a dead rat. She found it hilarious, thinking about what kind of expression the girl would have made when she woke up.

"Martha! We are late, hurry!" barged in another girl and said to her friend, seeing her done with makeup.

Martha's heart sped up. It was DADA class, and she knew if she came in late, the front-row seat wouldn't be available. Hurriedly started placing all her stuff in a pouch, and before she left, she turned around and said "Pansy, what was her name? Maybe our sixth-year girls can roughen her up."

"Her name is Hermione Granger."

'I know it wasn't Crookshanks' the bushy-haired thought as her face hardened, finding out the mystery.

Sadly, the tears wouldn't stop pouring from her eyes. Placing a hand on her mouth, she was able to stop her cries. Though it only made her sound as if she was whimpering.

Hermione is the second rank student in her year, the first being Daphne Greengrass, a popular girl.

Daphne Greengrass, Heiress of Ancient and Most Noble House of Greengrass. She is also an apprentice of Asura Black, who is now a Headmaster of Hogwarts. Daphne scores almost full marks on every subject in her class, while Hermione scores second.

Hermione was brilliant for her age, so she knew many students were shifting their anger from Daphne to her, as Daphne has more influence and power. Whereas she is just a 'mudblood' and a bookworm.

*BAM*

Suddenly, her stall door knocked open, revealing an energetic little girl who seemed to be a second-year student.

"WOW… I am sorry I didn't knock. Are you okay?" The newly arrived saw Hermione had puffy red cheeks, with lines of tear stains traveling on her cheeks.

Hermione looked at the girl. She had beautiful, braided black hair and black eyes. Looking at her expensive clothes and face, Hermione can guess she came from a wealthy family.

Wearing a large black robe, she used her sleeve to wipe her tears quickly and said "N-No… I am fine. I should go to class."

As Hermione stood up, ready to rush out of the bathroom, she knew that more rumors would surface if they heard her breakdown in a bathroom stall.

"Wait!… I am Astoria Greengrass… Let's be friends!"

Daphne was glaring at her little sister, who was hiding behind a tall red-haired man who found the situation amusing.

"Tori! Why are my notes missing?... I checked your things, and they weren't there… So tell who did you give them to?" Daphne asked as she found the situation very irritating.

Daphne didn't mind sharing, but her notes were very private, as sometimes when she found a lecture boring, she would scribble her thoughts on her notes.

Astoria hiding behind, the red-haired man couldn't help but hug the man in fear. She knows her sister is angry, and it's best to tell her the truth.

"I… gave them to my friend" Astoria said, after peeking from the man's hip.

Daphne's cold blue eyes shone, but looking at her adorable sister, she calmed and said "Polly or Helena, or was it the girl who couldn't keep her mouth shut?"

Astoria trembled, but then she felt a hand on her head, calmly rubbing her hair, taking away all her worries.

"Daphne, those are just notes, right? I can help you make new ones… and I am sure Miss. Davis would love to share hers" Asura said, calming Astoria, who was close to crying after Daphne's angry interrogation.

Hearing Asura's Daphne, a slight red hue appeared on Daphne's cheeks, as she just realized that Asura was here and saw her embarrassing tantrum.

Clearing her throat, she said "T-The notes have important information… that I don't like to share."

Daphne avoided looking at Asura's eyes; she could already see the usual teasing smirk planting on Asura's face.

"*Chuckle*... I am sure Pumpkin can tell us who she gave it to" Asura said, watching Daphne act like a shy cat.

Astoria turned to Daphne and revealed "Hermione Granger."

In the corner of a library was sitting Hermione, face planted in a beautifully decorated small notebook.

It's been an entire day since Hermione got the book from her new friend Astoria.

Though it wasn't her plan to ask or take notes from the number one popular girl, she was quickly tempted after her mischievous friend revealed the person who helps with Daphne's notes.

Professor Black was, without a doubt, her favorite. Her reasons were vast, from simply explaining so perfectly that no matter what he says, it makes sense, and he would always show live demonstrations. But sadly, he stopped teaching, and now he is just a headmaster.

When she heard that Professor Black guided Daphne's notes, she was quickly tempted to take the books and started reading them at once.

Hermione's guilt was quickly gone after ten minutes into the notes, as it already cleared multiple doubts she was having in her classes, especially Transfiguration Class.

"Oh no!" Hermione exclaimed as she opened a book with a black cover.

Hermione saw multiple "thoughts" of Daphne in her notes; the thoughts ranged from "Snape's hair looks nice today" to "Need to ask Dora for Asura's beach photos."

Hermione was, of course, embarrassed reading the annotation she calls them, but what she found in the black book surprised her more. She also felt… fear.

There were dark spells, theories about how they work, and finally, information that even the ministry wouldn't know.

"Magic is neither good nor evil. It merely is a tool, like a knife. Is a knife evil? Only if the wielder is evil." - said Asura.

Hermione squinted her eyes while making her tilt her head to the side as she felt the information enlightening her somehow.

'Magic is just magic' Hermione thought.

"What makes a spell, Dark? A simple levitating charm can kill anyone from on top of the stairs… So, is it also a dark spell?"

Hermione read another of Asura's quotes. Again, she felt some unknown pleasure in her mind as she questioned this theory multiple times when she was in her first year.

"Granger!" soon came to a loud whisper, making her drop the book.

Daphne, who had just arrived and saw Hermione reading her notes, seeing her drop the book, tried snatching it away to place it in her magical pouch.

Hermione just realized what had happened. She quickly picked up the book and tightly wrapped her hands around it, hiding it in her arms.

"Granger, give me my book." Daphne said, staring at Hermione, acting like a crazy girl.

Hermione shook her head childishly; the book she was reading was perfect for her. Almost all the questions which have been nagging her every day were answered beautifully in the book.

"{Accio Book}" Daphne said as he brought out her wand.

Hermione felt the book missing in her arms, but when she was about to summon them, she looked at Daphne's fiery eyes.

"I-I will tell everyone that you are reading… Dark Arts!" Hermione said, an amateur attempt to blackmail Daphne to give the book back.

Daphne simply ignored Hermione and summoned all her notes back while murmuring "I should have placed some enchants."

Hermione couldn't do anything, as Daphne's confident and intimidating pose pressured her.

Seeing the back of Daphne as she left, Hermione thought 'Magic is neither good nor evil. It's the wielder who uses it for good or evil."

===========

Here is the poll on Hermione's fate.

To be honest, I find Hermione boring, annoying, and over 'used' in numerous HP Fanfics I have read. Nevertheless, if it garners enough votes, I can put aside my dislike of the character and add her.

Choices:

Hermione should join Asura's harem.

Hermione should be included in the story, but not as a member of the Harem

Don't focus on Hermione, but leave her in the background.
