Edward was not pleased with the threat Zeph had left him with.
He spent the rest of the afternoon reviewing plotting and planning in solitude. It had not shocked Edward that Zeph had declared he would kill him, that much he expected. What bothered Edward was his brother's declaration that he would come after Owain first.
He had no idea whether or not to believe Zeph, his younger brother was known for being able to trick their tutors and even the king himself ever since he was a child.
Telling Edward could either mean that he was telling the eldest prince to stay away so he could kill Owain or it could also be a trap. If Edward knew that Zeph was attacking Owain first, then he would know where to find a weakened Zeph.
Owain might not be the most powerful among the princes, but he wasn't weak either. Edward was sure that Owain could do some damage against Zeph, especially if the Liber Prince could slip some potion in their drinks or food.
"Your majesty." One of his ministers asked as he entered the room, finding Edward unresponsive to all their knocking at the door. Edward's mother had commanded his people to treat him as if he were king from a young age.
The Bellator wife of King Alexander was confident that if the king had a choice he would have his eldest and most powerful son made King.
"I said I was not to be disturbed." Edward spoke in a grim tone. He wasn't happy to see his minister at the door. He needed time to think, to plan, to plot. He didn't trust any of his men in fear that one of them would be spying for one of his brothers.
"Sir, I do not mean to intrude, but your father's ministers have asked for you to appeal to the king." His minister said as he kept his head bowed, careful not to make eye contact with the unhappy prince.
"Why?" He questioned as a cold aura spread throughout the room. Edward was not pleased with his father's ministers ordering him around.
"Your majesty it seems that the King refuses to leave his chambers, the council meeting will start soon and he has ordered his guards to block all that wish to enter." The minister told Prince Edward.
Edward frowned at the man's words, it was no secret that his father had an active private life, but to allow it to disrupt his day to day activities in ruling the kingdom was another matter. The king was not one to allow that.
"I'll see what I can do." Edward sighed as he stood up and fixed his coat, firmly placing every medal that he had been honored with.
"You'll speak with the king?" The minister asked the Prince as Edward walked out of the room, trailed by his minister.
"Of course, what else is there for me to do? The kingdom cannot be ruled by the princes if our father is indisposed." Edward couldn't help but feel proud at the fact that his father's people turned to him when the king was missing. It was a good sign, a sign that they trusted him above all other princes.
Edward's wing of the palace was closest to the King's bed chambers which lay at the center of the palance. It was the heart of the kingdom, its location was not just symbolic but practical as well.
"Father!" Edward called out as he knocked on the king's bedroom door.
"His majesty said-" A guard tried to inform Edward about the king's orders when Edward raised his hand to stop the guard from speaking. His hand glowed blue with Cruor magic, silencing the guard.
"I am the king's eldest son!" Edward said, his voice booming across the hall for everyone to hear. "The king has to attend to the business of the kingdom and I was sent to fetch him, so move."
The guards quickly parted, leaving Edward alone in front of the giant doors that led to his father's bedroom.
"Are you sure you want to disturb him?" Owain asked as he suddenly appeared next to Edward.
"Shouldn't you be licking your wounds somewhere? I'm sure you have not completely healed." Edward said without sparing his younger brother a glance.
"This seems more exciting." Owain commented as he remained standing next to Edward.
"Leave or I will have you sent away." Edward ordered Owain, who laughed and raised his hand before backing off.
Edward took a deep breath and pushed open the bedroom doors. He expected some form of resistance but to his surprise it swung open.
The sounds and sights that Edward encountered when he entered the room shocked him. It was something he believed he would never forget.
"Alexander!" A familiar female voice screamed in ecstasy as Edward entered the room.
"Your majesty, don't ignore me." A different female voice pleaded, much to Edward's shock.
His father had multiple wives, but he never expected them to share his father at the same time.
"Faster!" His mother cried out, making Edward hesitate, but he knew he had to drag his father from his chambers to the meeting room.
His father slacking off on work would only cause problems for him when he eventually took the throne.
Edward pushed open the door that separated the receiving area from the king's bedchamber.
"Father, mother, lady Peyra." Edward bowed after figuring out who the third person in the room was.
"Get out!" The king roared at his son. Angry that he had interrupted their lust filled moment.
"Father, with all due respect, you are needed at the council chambers." Edward said as he tried to remain calm. He wanted to throw up at the sight of his father's cock buried deep into his mother as Lady Peyra lay naked with them doing god knows what.
His father rolled his eyes as he pulled out of Edward's mother, Lady Sere, his first wife and cleaned himself.
Edward turned to leave but was stopped by the king.
"Why did they send my eldest son to interrupt me? Do they want yo uto be less favored?" The king asked, making Edward turn pale with worry.
He didn't realize that calling his father for a council meeting could be to his detriment.
