"Cibus mages are many things, but they are not aggressive." Malcolm said as he thought of the general's words.


"Your grace, that is what puzzled us. Their actions were quite different, it confused us. We never wanted to hurt our fellow Merlenians, but they left us no choice." The general told Malcolm.


"There is always something that can drive you to the edge." Nicholas said as the room fell silent. "Everyone has a bottomline, and it seems that Marcus may be lying to them."


No one spoke as they absorbed Nicholas' words. Everyone had a bottomline.


"What do you propose we do, brother?" Brie was the only one brave enough to speak up, to ask the prince what his plan was moving forward.


"Thomas!" Nicholas called out, his friend and minister quickly stood up and bowed.


"Yes, your highness?" Thomas asked, although he already had an idea what Nicholas wanted, it was always best to wait for his confirmation.
