Battle

Is he hungry?

The young man suddenly brought out a knife and started mutilating the corpse of the crow that just died. Geez, now that I look at it up close, it really is a giant crow, isn't it?

I wonder what it ate to become this big. Or wait, am I really small instead? Oh my god, can it be that the humans of this world are tiny compared to back on earth?

Wait… no, that can't be. I've seen trees and plants of normal sizes. So that means this crow really is massive.

As I watch, the young man cuts off the wings and plucks all the feathers. He must be getting it ready to ready to cook. Wonder how he is going to fit all that meat in any kind of pot.

Or he could cut it down and keep some for later. Yeah, that sounds more accurate.

The young man then cuts around the crow's legs, cutting out bones and tendons which he stores in his storage bag.

Thank god he didn't store me back and instead just put me on his shoulders. I couldn't have gotten to see such a happy little event.

Then, the young man does something that is… very confusing. He cuts through the bird's chest and brings out a… marble? Is that it?

Why does a crow have marble in its chest? Was it choking on it before this? Was that why it fell unconscious?

I swear to god I thought it was because of me. Damn it.

The man kept the marble in the pouch and then shoved the whole bird into his pouch as well. That was surprising. I didn't think that was possible at all.

Just how big is that damn pouch, I wonder. As if he just noticed me, the man takes me and puts me into the same pouch as well.

Thank god it's dark in here and I don't have to see the bird at all, but… I suppose that's it for me for a while.

I can only continue to look through my main body now. The familiar feeling of the panda crunching on my leaves return. I wonder when it will stop, or if it even will.

I look at the stump where my second body was cut through. That's such a shame. I would have had a fantastic second body, but I guess being with that young man, going around the world is not a bad thing either.

Time slowly pass and in the few years I think have passed, the panda stopped eating me for a few days. In those days, the fireflies returned once again.

And again, I called them toward my body, but I still can't see what they look like. You know, I'm starting to doubt they are even fireflies.

They might be some different type of insect altogether. An insect with such a small body that I can't even see it at all.

However, that didn't last very long as the panda woke up and started eating me again, and sent those beasts running away.

As for my 2nd body, the young man has brought me out a few times now, but never long enough for me to tell what's going on.

Each time he brings me out, he's either training somewhere in a forest or a cave or some normal-looking room.

Or fighting some opponents, be it humans or animals.

Most of the time, I am so good that I am the deciding factor in the fight. Although, sometimes I do nothing, which bothers me.

Am I not good enough for those people? Bastards, they must not have an ear to hear the beauty in the music I make.

A few more months pass and I get pulled out again. I see that I'm flying in the air, and I see the face of the young man.

hmm…Young man? Can I even call him that anymore? He has a beard on his face and it looks in overall more mature. He also looks much older, but I'm not a good judge of age so I can't really tell.

In front of the young man, floating in the air is another man in blue clothes, holding a spear in his hands. Are they fighting? Or is this a spar?

I hope it's a spar, I don't want to see—

Blood. The young man is bleeding from the arm he is holding me. The black sleeve didn't let me see it properly, but now that the blood is dripping down, I can see the crimson line flowing down through the air.

He's hurt. How is he hurt? Did that other man hurt him?

The young man puts me up to his lips. Now that I'm up close, I can see bloody teeth as well. He must be injured internally to have blood in his mouth.

"You finally took it out. Hahaha, Good. Give it to me now, and I will let your corpse remain whole after you die," the other blue-clothed man says.

What the hell is he saying? Let a corpse remain whole? Is he an idiot? Why would anyone care about their corpse if they are going to die?

I am starting to feel really angry just thinking about it. Also, that man's smile is annoying.

Dude, just use me already. Let's kill this man and be done with it.

As I think that, the young man blows into me and a relaxing musical tone escapes my body, making people lulled into a sleep.

Huh? Somehow it's not working on that man. Dammit, I really wanted it to work.

The young man makes a pained expression.

"Now, now, don't put it back there. Just give it to me and tell me how you got it," the blue-clothed man asked.

"Over my dead body," the young man says.

Yes, that's it. Tell that bastard. He dares crave for my—

As I think that, a silver light flashes before me and I watch in horror as the young man in front of me… is speared through the heart.
