The cave was impossibly dark. Even the entrance, which was illuminated by the daylight of the planet, soon became dark only a matter of metres into the cave. Even though it had been warm outside of the cave, the temperature soon plummeted upon entering. Along with it being cold inside the cave, it was also damp. Water dripped on to the floor from the higher points of the cave, clouding the senses of the group as well as adding to the overall atmosphere that the cave naturally had.

It was found well within the lines of human territory that the forces of humanity had managed to carve out on their short time on this world. Even though he was aware of this fact, Gus still could not help but think that they would end up encountering something while they were in there, and that thought could only add to his reservations and the building sense of fear that he felt inside himself as he pushed further into the cave.
