To be a full Vampire

"You need to give up on this lost boy." For some reason hearing this coming from Nathaniel wasn't so surprising for him at all.

"Why? Did you kill him"? Connor asked, raising an eyebrow.

Looking around the cafeteria Nathaniel lowered his voice, knowing well enough that Connor would hear him "I wish." he snickered."But something like that killed him. You help that girl and you are only gonna leave her confused and heartbroken."

"So he's dead? Great." Connor groaned. "And here I thought this place was free of dangers."

"Are you even aware of the variety of creatures in nature itself?" Nathaniel asked.

"Yes, my pack had a library. I read some stuff there." Connor shrugged.

"So you're not as clueless as you seemed". Nathaniel scoffed.

"Why are you here anyways? I get it. I need to be careful. I haven't done anything since that day…" Connor argued.

"Everything is not about you." Nathaniel snapped and rolled his eyes. "There is something bigger going on here for which I need to be here." Nathaniel sighed. "I figured I might as well keep an eye on you while I am at it". He shrugged.

"Oh…" Connor nodded. He still couldn't find it in himself to trust him, probably because of all the stories he heard from his dad about his cased about betrayal and everything.

Not to mention, this guy was completely a stranger. He had contemplated asking his family about this guy, but figured that if they found out someone like this was at his uni, they might do everything in their power to call them back. It was very hard to convince them about coming to uni here all across the world. Having overprotective parents sucked at times.

"So… what are you looking for here?" Connor asked. "Something I need to be wary of?" He asked.

"Actually...yeah" Nathaniel nodded. "Think about your species, and imagine what's the worst enemy you can have?".

"My one half is supposed to be the worst enemy of my other half". Connor blurted. "So Imma guess everyone out there." He shrugged.

"Exactly." Nathaniel smirked. Impressed by Connor's wit. "Anything remotely supernatural you see. Even when it's just a hunter, who is just a human, run." Nathaniel declared sternly. "You might be able to win against them but that has two disadvantages. One, people will know more about you and the word will get out. And two, in case you don't know what they are, it can get you killed."

"You sound like my Dad," Connor scoffed. "Are you sure they didn't send you"?

Nathaniel blinked. He didn't realise how he was coming off as. "I am just warning you."

"I get it." Connor shrugged. "Tell me something, what would happen if this...King or whatever found out about me?"

"He might get you killed." Nathaniel shrugged. "He is ruthless."

"Just like that?" Connor asked. Nathaniel nodded. Nathaniel finally started to take some bite of his food since he sat down which prompted Connor to ask, "Do you even like that food? What's it like being a full Vampire?" He asked.

Nathaniel looked up from his food and raised an eyebrow. "Your dad didn't tell you"? He scoffed.

"They sure did, but I wanna know from someone who actually is a Vampire." Connor shrugged.

"I thought you were born to a Vampire". Nathaniel was confused for a moment.

"My birth parents are dead. They were killed for...well having me." Connor shrugged.

"I see." Nathaniel mumbled. "This tastes like shit, but I can have them if I want. Nothing tastes as good as blood. I have actually forgotten how good food was supposed to taste in my era." He mumbled. "These are just way too fancy with f**ked up taste".

"Okay...old man," Connor mumbled. He checked his phone for the timing and excused himself from the table. "I need to go, somehow it wasn't that horrible talking to you?" Connor wondered out loud. "Good bye". And with that, he was gone.

Nathaniel waited in his seat instead as he had realized that it was a good vantage point from the moment he sat down. He observed everyone and their movements, tried his level best to figure out what someone was saying, and if there was anything suspicious in the words spoken in the area.

He also tried to filter for the name Nick Horton but one spoke those words and neither did anyone mention anything about a missing boy. Just how unpopular was this boy? Nathaniel wondered.

He was about to give up and dump the remainder of his food when he heard something, 'locator sangre'. It was not a loud voice, nor did it come from nearby but had a heavy depth to the voice which was oddly a part of a whisper. It sounded impatient and aggressive. But that's not what alarmed Nathaniel the most.

What bothered him the most were the two words, 'locator sangre'. These were the words he had encountered quite a few times in his lifetime of centuries, and he knew well enough what they meant. It was a spell, a locator spell on top of that. Which only meant one thing. There was a witch in this college.
