New premonition

She could see the King and the prince walking on their way out of the mansion, escorted by their man. Their strides were long but not hurried as they moved with ease and confidence.

Some men stopped when they sensed a threat, preventing her from getting close to her mark. But the two continued walking, not even glancing her way. It seemed nothing frightened them at all.

"Wait, Your Highness." She shouted, hoping to stop the King from leaving. "We should not give up on this peace treaty." She pleaded as she attempted to get closer to him.

However, her petite frame and skinny arms were no match to the men blocking her path. No matter how she swiped, pushed, or went around the security, she could still not move them even by an inch.

"That is as far as you can go," A uniformed man instructed her, raising his hand swiftly, stopping her from getting passed him. He looked like he was a man with a high ranked, judging from the way his men looked at him.

"I just want a word with the King, even just for a minute." Pleading as her hands waved to the King to catch his attention before he disappeared from her sight.

Still, he stood, looming over her, gazing at her with those blazing eyes. But she would not easily back out from this monster, who looked like a big man but was still a beast inside just the same.

"Please, King Charles, don't leave just yet." She shouted again, knowing very well that he could hear her. "Prince Adam, please, just listen." Her voice floated to the air, not planning to stop until they gave her a moment of their time.

Hope sprung into her heart once she saw the two finally stop before they could go inside the car, already waiting for them. She eagerly waited, watching the King speak to his son.

When the King nodded his head, the prince walked back in her direction, forcing the guards to step aside, making way for him to pass through.

She suddenly swallowed the lump of fear in her throat, seeing the prince's blazing eyes, but she would not show him fear since she was on a mission.

"What do you have in mind?" The prince asked with an unreadable expression as if she was wasting his time. "Say it fast and make sure it is worth my time, or I will hunt you down and slit your throat."

She again gulped down her fear, convincing herself that those were just empty threats. The prince had no time to waste looking for a mere witch like her.

She twisted her fingers on her side, trying hard to control her nerves, not wanting the prince or the guards to notice her trembling. But she doubted that she was doing a good job.

"I know I can find her. I will bring her back to fulfill her obligation to marry you, Your Highness. You know that we need to fulfill the prophecy." Elisia stated with confidence, letting the words pour from her tongue as fast as her lips would allow it, surprised that they flowed like silk.

There was no sign that she was nervous, finally giving her the confidence she desperately needed to stand tall in front of the prince, who had the perfect fair skin, a handsome face, and hair as black as the midnight sky.

Suddenly she was drowning in the deepness of those green eyes that seemed to leave her in a trance as she continued to stare at them, floating in the clouds, lost in their beauty.

"Prince Adam, the car is ready and waiting." One of the guards interrupted the silence, making the prince shift his attention away from her.

After acknowledging the man, the prince took a deep breath as if still contemplating her words before finally looking back at her with a decision.

She could sense that he still doubted her words, but she had to convince him. She grabbed him by his arm instinctively, which caused the guards to move, about to strike her, sensing her as a threat.

She suddenly realized her mistake, quickly releasing his arms, but she knew it was too late. She waited for the impact, closing her eyes, but it never came.

When she opened her eyes, the guards had stepped back, but the prince remained standing in front of her. Relief flooded through her veins as her heart started pumping again, quicker this time.

"I know I can find her." She repeated with a breathy tone, suddenly realizing she had been holding her breath, afraid to move from her position.

"Then, find her, and once you do, call me." Prince Adam took a card from his pocket and placed it in her hand. "What is your name?" He asked, staring directly into her eyes.

"Elisia, Your Highness." She responded, gripping the card tightly in her trembling hands, afraid it might fall and get lost in the gushing wind.

She was unsure why she was still shaking when the prince did not seem frightening anymore. She believed he saved her from the blow that would have caused damage to her face.

Besides, he had a face of an angel that probably could make any woman fall for him, even she.

"Elisia, I will be expecting your call." The prince whispered in his husky masculine voice as he leaned closer to her ears. "You will call me, only me, immediately, once you found her." He whispered in his lowest voice, but she heard him, loud and clear.

"Yes, Prince Adam. I will. I promise." She nodded, assuring him that she had received his message.

The prince immediately turned around and moved toward the exit where his father was already waiting inside the car. In the meantime, she stared at his back until he was gone from her sight.

"I will find you, Avana, because you need to fulfill your destiny," Elisia whispered to the wind, calling for her ancestors, begging for help and guidance.

She also immediately turned around, walking fast to return to her kind. Their congregation would be leaving soon, and they would be wondering where she was. But they could not know where she had been or what she had done.

She had no idea why her ancestors chose her. It was a task given to her alone. She could not seek any help from her kind, which was the only condition. But, she was determined to fulfill this new premonition.
