Avana could not believe what she heard from him. She doubted any of it was just concocted stories. It all sounded so real. As if he had relieved every moment of his childhood as he told her about his life. 

His past as a human child before he became what he was today. Somehow, it had explained many things about him and how he came to hate her kind. She could not believe that a werewolf would purposely hurt a human for the sole purpose of revenge.

"Are you sure that a werewolf killed your mother?" She asked again, still puzzled by this version of the story. It contradicted what her ancestors had told them about their history. 

In all the history of the werewolves, even today as she could recall. The werewolves had been a peace-loving community. She was not saying that there had not been some rogue members of their pack, but it was rare.
