Nothing had changed since he had left her last night. He still felt the same way about her, only more intensified. Seeing her like this, he knew he could not return to what it was before.

He watched her swim away from them, wanting her privacy. He would have given it to her until he noticed her struggling on the water. He had seen she was a good swimmer, but those waters could be tricky.

"I am good," Avana told him as he came by to check on her. She looked pissed that he had come to her rescue as she moved away from him. But when she closed her eyes, he knew she was thinking of him.

The only thing running on her mind at that moment was him. It was not bullshit. It was the truth. 

Slowly, he swam in her direction to where she rested, stopped, and sat beside her. She still had her eyes closed, but he knew she was aware of his nearness. It was evident in her quickened heartbeat and shallow breath.
