His father did not even look up when he entered the room. Adam quickly returned home when he received the summon his father had sent him. He knew that if he did not explain, his father would be marching into his home with his soldiers, demanding answers.

It was the last thing he wanted to happen. He was not ready for his father to initiate the war, not if he could help stop it from happening. He was still hopeful that his father would listen to reason.

"Father." He greeted the man whose face remained stoic. He could not read what the King might be thinking, but he could guess that he was not happy about his actions. "You have asked for me."

His father finally pushed himself off the table and stood up. But he did not face him. Instead, he walked towards the window and looked outside. He could tell he was watching the soldiers training on the ground, but his mind was thinking.
