CLXXXIV

He took Isaac back to his secret laboratory hidden underground in his house. They had to discuss what his friend had learned about his men.

They knew that his men had something to do with the kidnapping, but what they were still trying to figure out was why. 

Why would his men betray his trust when they had been working together since he joined their troop? He had led them in many bottles, but more than that, he had treated each of them like they were his brothers.

"What did you learn about the two?" Adam referred to the two soldiers assigned to patrol the perimeters near the fountain side.

They were two of his most trusted comrades. Therefore, it did not make sense that they would work for the other side. He knew that his men would die for him on the battlefield. So, what happened to them today?

"Nothing," Isaac answered him. "They remembered nothing." He continued as if that should answer his question.
