SYSTEM SET-UP
After knowing his current basic skills, Zach was all set to hunt a demon beast of a lower level to test his current strength and practice his skills.
He was about to ask Ryuki where to find a demon beast when suddenly Zach remembered his strange system.
"Ryuki, just give me a minute. Before we go hunting, there is something I need to settle."
Ryuki just watched his master confusedly before nodding his head in agreement.
Zach sat down on the ground, crossing his legs together and folding his arms over his chest as he concentrated. All he needed to do was close his eyes to look like he was meditating.
Of course, he didn't do that. He just knitted his eyebrows into a deep frown, thinking about how he would be able to communicate with his system.
He never knew when his system would suddenly pop up again. What if it would distract him again and command him to do another thing while he was fighting a demon beast? He didn't want that to happen!
After a while, Zach took a deep breath and called his system's name, hoping that it would talk to him.
"Angelique?! Are you there? Talk to me!"
As soon as he mentioned the name 'Angelique', a familiar transparent screen appeared before his eyes.
He saw an avatar that looked like two white wings in the middle of the screen. It did not take long when he heard a childlike voice, talking to him.
"Hello, Zach. This is me, Angelique, your angelic system. I heard that you have called for me."
"Let's talk. There are things I want to ask you," Zach said, the deep crease still visible on his forehead.
"Feel free to ask me anything. I will try my best to give you the answer you seek," Angelique promptly responded.
"What are you? What is your purpose?"
"I am your system, bestowed to you by the Mighty Holiness. As for my purpose, I have two: To Protect and Guide You!"
Zach laughed sarcastically after hearing her response. He couldn't believe it!
"To protect me? You are lying. For what I know, all you did was commanding me what to do while threatening to torture and punish me if I disobey you! Where is the protection part on that?"
Zach couldn't help but mock his strange system, taking out his frustration. He was still annoyed by this system.
"I just saved you from being beaten up and killed by the five demons a while ago. That is called Protection," Angelique reasoned out.
Zach couldn't refute that. Even Ryuki said that he would certainly lose or get injured once he fought those five demons. His system indeed helped and saved him from harm.
"As for the punishment, it is needed since it is in your nature that you will disobey me and not listen to me without those punishments. This is the only way I can guide you on the right path, spreading good deeds."
Zach rolled his eyes the moment he heard those words from Angelique. "So how does this system work? Will it just keep on popping up out of nowhere without my permission?"
"My purpose is to protect and guide you. I will automatically be activated once I sense that you are in danger and once I give you a quest. The quest has something to do with me guiding you."
"Completing a quest will give you rewards and help you get stronger. Failing a quest, you will be subjected to punishment."
Zach scowled at the mention of punishment. "Here we go again with the punishment stuff!"
Zach sighed deeply. It seemed that he could no longer change his fate and he was stuck with this system.
"You can also summon me anytime by calling my name just like what you did a while ago," Angelique added.
"Okay, I understand now," Zach said, thinking that he would just discover things about this system along the way.
For now, he was eager to test his demon skills.
"Do you have any more questions?" Angelique asked him.
"None," Zach nonchalantly answered.
"Since you have no further questions, let me finish the system set-up. It is still incomplete," Angelique informed him.
'System set-up? Still incomplete?'
Zach was about to ask her when suddenly Angelique's avatar disappeared from his eyes and he saw words popping up.

Zach just remained silent, watching the screen and listening to Angelique's voice.

Zach's demon ring suddenly lit up and was surrounded by orange lights.
After a few seconds, the orange lights surrounding his demon ring disappeared.

As soon as the notification about System Integration Completed popped up, the interface changed and Zach saw the Menu Bar with four dropdown icons.

Zach became more curious about this system. After watching it run some commands and actions, Zach felt like he had a built-in computer system in his mind.
"Wow, I don't want to admit it but this looks cool. I feel like I am playing a VR Game," Zach mumbled in amazement.
Soon he followed Angelique's instructions.
"Stats and skills," Zach voiced out.
He saw on the screen that the STATS and Skills icon turned red after he said it. Seconds later, the interface changed again providing him data about his Stats and skills.
