Unfortunate

Just as she was proceeding to speak to Toh, something catches her attention from the corner of her eye. It was a group of thugs passing something between them. Sumire frowned seeing a small transparent packet with white powder.

Is that what she thinks it is?

Right at that moment her phone beeped.

From: Aki

Take care of it.

Sumire exhaled deeply. 'If you're close enough to see it, why don't you do it?' She wanted to call him and retort back but she knew better than to do so. It is pointless arguing with him. Besides, Aki is the leader and the leader shouldn't have to personally take charge of such petty matters.

She rummages through her bag and pulls out an arm band and slips it on her arm. Sumire turned to Toh with an apologetic look on her face.

"Sorry, I will be right back."

Toh nodded. "I will stay here, give me your bag. I will take care of it."

She slips it from her shoulders and passes it to him before heading off in the direction. The moment she got closer she got a better look, Sumire could confirm her thoughts. These people, they actually have the nerve to trade drugs in a park so close by a school. No, that's the perfect condition for any drug dealer, to target those who are easy to manipulate. Students are easy to manipulate.

It's unfortunate for them however, that this is area is part of her jurisdiction. The two men were too busy discussing the exchange, so it wasn't until she was standing a few feet away from them did they notice her presence. The two men looked at each other confused.

"You didn't get me a woman as a bribe did you?"

"Like hell I would lend you such a beauty even if I have one."

"Then, is she a normal civilian?"

At those words, they took one look at her before both sides whistled and there is a group of guys emerge from the bushes.

"Now miss, what did you just see? How much did you overhear?"

"Hm, I saw you two passing a suspicious bag that looks like drugs and talking about shipments." Sumire stated casually.

She only heard the end of their conversation, but they revealed more than enough information.

The two guys looked at each other alarmed, and immediately instructed their men to grab her. However, the minute one of them grabbed her arn. She has him on the ground in seconds, with his arms bent backwards.

"Now, now. Before you attack me gentleman, maybe you should look at me more closely? You may be able to find the clue to save your life."

Amid her speech however a few impatient ones lunged towards her. Sumire swiftly dodges.

'I don't necessarily have to use a weapon, but, they won't take me seriously otherwise.'

She swiftly pulled out her gun from her holster and shot the largest one. The minute she pulled out her gun, she saw the leaders attention shift onto her weapon and then finally onto her arm band.

"Stop."

At those words the men abruptly stop, the one who called out was a man with sea coloured ash blonde hair. He was looking at the arm band and at her with fear.

"Are you a member of the holy knights?"

"That's right." Sumire nodded.

The blonde haired man raised his hands, a sign of surender. "We-will submit an apology, please let us go."

"Hm." Sumire looks him up and down. Judging from his demanour, this must be the first time he participated in a drug deal. He seems to be younger than her too. It doesn't seem like he has stained his hands with blood yet.

She nodded. "Alright, give me your emblem. I will send a representative over later."

The man nodded and slowly slid a small badge onto the ground. Sumire noticed how he was careful not to approach her. Just being a member of the holy knights group is enough to get this reaction from the other delinquents. If they knew who she was, they would have run away by now.

The other man however wasn't backing away, in fact she noted that his remaining men had gotten closer to her. Sumire exhaled deeply. Well, she can't expect both of them to be smart.

Sumire didn't bother with the other guys, and swiftly landed in front of the leader.

"G-get lost-" He stammered.

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me woman, leave right now before you get hurt."

Sumire had to stop herself from laughing. Despite the threat, she could see the man cowering in fear and shaking. How many fools has she met since she became a member of the underworld? She has already long lost count. There are fools like this, who put on a false facade in front of somebody stronger than them.

This guy saw how she fought with his men just now. He understands very well that he stands no chance against her. But, he has too much pride to admit that he is wrong.

'What a fool, is pride more important than your life?'

Unlike the blonde haired man, this one reeked of crime. There is the foul oder of blood, fresh blood. Sumire frowned, drug dealing is one thing. But, did he kill someone? She will have to check if there have been any other cases, or scout this area.

Sumire lifted her gun towards his forehead. Had it been any normal day she would have fired the shot already, especially after smelling this much blood on him. However, Toh is nearby, and she still wants to continue their walk after this. After deciding, she switched the bullets to rubber ones and fired it.

She quickly makes a few calls, and it does not take long before cars with a familiar emblem appear. She explains the situation to her fellow Holy knights members, and they are quickly making arrests.

She turned her attention towards where she left Toh and proceeded to head back, only to find someone walking towards her.

It was Toh, but he wasn't alone. There was a skinny and pale woman wearing only a simple nightgown. What stood out to her was the horrific bruises on her arms, and legs. She gritted her teeth, and looked back at the man who was being taken away by her fellow holy knights members. Just now she smelled blood on him, was it from beating this girl? If she knew this information sooner, she would have killed him.

"Miss, do you want to come with me?" Sumire asked.

The girl didn't reply, she seemed visibly frightened of anyone.

Sumire carefully grabs hold of her hands, and she flinched immediately. But Sumire didn't let go, and instead squeezed her hands.

"It's alright, he is gone now. The one who hurt you, he is gone."

She didn't know how much the girl understood, but some trace of light emerged in her eyes.
