Rage

TOH

'It seems I will need to have another chat with the boss. He didn't tell me any of this, and I am supposed to be his second in command.' While he acknowledges there is information he cannot say. Regarding Aki, regarding the Holy knights? It's odd that Lucifer hid this information from him.

Once Sumire has recovered fully, he will start demanding some answers.

"And you didn't think to tell me?" Sumire snapped.

"There was no need. You know I never approved of you with---"

Sumire laughed bitterly. "Now you're acting like my guardian? Tell me do guardians have a habit of confessing to their wards. Or maybe it's just--"

At those words Aki slammed his hand against the wall beside Sumire. Toh's eyes widened, when did he break the barrier? Seeing the green coloured flames he blinked. So fast, he didn't see him move.

"Are you actually going to use my feelings for you against me now?" Aki said.

"Yes I am!" Sumire exclaimed. "You have no problems using my feelings, so why cant I do the same?"

Toh flinched hearing those words. Her feelings, her feelings for that bastard who hurt her. They may have discussed her conversation with Nagawa. But, it doesn't change his opinion of the bastard. While he understands how easy it is for Lucifer to manipulate people. Nagawa Sano gave up far too easily.

He could have fought harder to stand by her side and question Lucifer's motives. But he didn't do any of that, and instead chose to accept the break up order with no question.

Mamoru leaned closer with a worried look on his face. "This is bad, last time they spoke about this topic-"

Mamoru didn't get a chance to finish saying those words, since turquoise and blue coloured flames wrapped around Aki. He raised his hand and he touched Sumire's cheek, causing her to flinch.

"Do you truly intend to use my feelings against you?" Aki raised his voice. "Is he that important to you?"

Sumire averted her gaze but nodded. "You know he is. You knew even before I did."

The dangerous glint in Aki's eyes had yet to vanish, and the flames surrounding him were deadly. But despite the deadly flames, Toh noticed that the flames were not hurting Sumire.

"Then let me rephrase that question. Since you were willing to risk your life for that bastard, I think I know the answer already. But, I want you to tell me that I'm wrong. Somewhere in your heart, do you still have feelings for him?"

Toh looked at Sumire, looked at her eyes and knew even before she spoke what she was going to say.

"Yes." Sumire said softly.

Just a single word but it was enough. Toh clenched his fist. Didn't he predict this too? Sumire said she picked him over Nagawa, and yet she never said whether she still had feelings for him. She never directly told him no.

Toh shakes his head, trying to shake away the bitterness in his heart. He can't act this way.

'Yes, I love you.' Sumire already told him the words he has been waiting for since he first realized his feelings for her.

At those words Aki raised his hands to the girl's throat. Toh's eyes widened alarmed but Mamoru shook his head.

"If you step into that and get hurt, Ki will blame herself."

Toh understood that. 'I don't want her to blame herself anymore. Not everything is her fault, others around her should start taking responsibility too.'

He understands what would happen if he were to interfere. No matter how strong he is, Aki is far stronger.

'I don't know the extent of his abilities since I haven't had the time to research him properly. So, I would lose the fight no doubt.'

He doesn't want to see the pain in Sumire's eyes when that does happen.

"You can't keep doing this, you can't react this way everytime I care about someone. Yes he hurt me, but he had his circumstances and while that doesn't excuse his actions. He truly seemed regretful. I can't hold a grudge against someone who was simply trying to protect his family. He chose his family over his feelings for me. It hurts, but I understand. If I had to choose one over the other I would have done the same."

Aki continues to tighten his grip on the girl's throat and Sumire starts choking.

It was taking all his willpower and from the looks of it Mamoru was in the same situation.

"Aki, in this instance I will be choosing Sano over my obligation to you-" Sumire managed to say those words clearly before Aki tightened his grip. "Over you, I will-"

"Stop!" Toh screamed.

It was his first time letting out such a loud voice, a voice that sounded so panicked and filled with fear. But he couldn't control himself any longer.

Sumire snapped her attention back to him. Her eyes widened alarmed. "Toh, step back."

Toh finally realized that he had stepped into the room.

Aki turned his focus from Sumire onto him, and the dark look in his eyes turned darker. "If it's not him, it's this one is it?"

This would be a good opportunity to use his abilities. However, Toh finds himself frozen on the spot. What is this intense power? When he first met Aki after Sumire finished off that job, Toh noted that he had a powerful presence. But, this level of power is crazy. Just unleashing it is enough to bring someone on their knees.

If it wasn't for the enchantment Lucifer placed around his trusted subordinates. Toh knew he wouldn't be standing right now. Aki must have realized something was wrong, since he growled and raised his hand. This time the flames aimed at him were deadly.

Before the wave of flames could reach him however, something cuts it in half. Sumire was standing there with a gorgeous white coloured blade in her hands.

She was looking at Aki with such fury in her eyes. "Did you just attack Toh? With your flames?"

If he thought she was angry before, he has underestimated her. The best way to describe Sumire's anger now, is the anger of a raging fire dragon.
