TOH
He already decided to leave Lucifer's side, knowing that he would never be able to live peacefully with Sumire otherwise. But, if she truly is the one the boss wants, then it won't be as simple as him leaving.
Sumire slumped in his arms and he stroked her hair. "Are you alright beautiful?" Toh asked.
"That was strange."
Toh chuckled. "You did a good job. Do you feel better?"
"A little."
Toh lays her down. "How did my blood taste?"
Sumire paused. "It tasted sweet."
Toh froze at her words. Did she just say sweet? How is that possible?
"Um." Sumire laughed softly. "It really was nice. If you don't mind, next time I don't feel well. Can I have some?"
"You can have some anytime you want beautiful." Toh managed to hide his shock.
'It's not possible is it? I have always felt connected to her. But, I simply thought it was a coincidence.'
"I-I'm going to go take a bath."
"Alright." Toh paused and quickly made his mind up. He scooped her up in his arms. "I'll take you there."
There is no need for him to carry her. It's not like she got hurt from her confrontation with Aki or sparing with Mamoru. But, the wounds she received from the battle in the hospital have yet to vanish.
He helped her into the bathtub, and was about to turn away when Sumire tugged on his shirt. "Why aren't you joining me?"
Toh blinked. "I thought you'd want your privacy."
"I don't. So join."
Toh looked into her eyes and realized that the girl was looking at him directly. There was no sign of her usual shyness. He takes a deep breath before slipping his clothes off, one by one. Toh didn't miss how she was looking at him. This isn't the first time she has stared at him removing his clothes. He has caught her on more than one occasion, but this is certainly the first time he is seeing such an intense gaze in her eyes.
He didn't even think it was possible for someone to look at him like this.
"Do you, like what your looking at?" Toh finds himself asking.
At those words, he finally sees the usual lovely shade of red on her face to the tip of her ears. "W-well, it's okay I suppose."
"If it was just okay, you wouldn't be looking at me like that."
"Its a bit hard to look away when your showing everything like that."
Toh raised his eyebrow. "Did you expect me to enter the tub with clothing on?"
"No." Sumire shakes her head and extended her hand out. "Can you come here already?"
This woman has no idea what she is doing to him does she? If she did, she certainly wouldn't be behaving like this. Toh nodded and climbed into the tub. Honestly, if she had been any other woman. They would have done something by now. Before he met Sumire, pleasing women was simply a job to him. It had no other meaning. However, after he met her. He finally understood the expression of some of his companions when they speak about the women they love.
Even their shoulders briefly brushing against one another or simply holding hands is enough. Toh pulled the girl into his body and she sighed in approval.
"Toh..
"Hmm?"
"Kiss me?"
For a moment he is too stunned. But one look at her was all it took for his self control to break. He kisses her with the same passion as earlier, except this time neither of them were wearing clothes. He was more than enjoying the feeling of her hands on his chest.
"Aki said we should break up." Sumire mumbled between kisses.
Toh frowned. Is that what they were whispering about, before the yelling started? He recalled Tsueno's words. So, this must be the reason why they have been fighting.
"I will assume you didn't agree since your still here with me."
Sumire sighed. "This isn't funny. If he wants us to break up, he will find a way to do so."
"Don't worry love, I won't let that happen."
"I trust you." Sumire sighed. "But, I don't trust him not to do anything drastic. It wouldn't surprise me if Aki contacted Lucifer himself and handed San over to him."
"What makes you think that?"
"I could tell when we were talking. His body posture and his tone screamed guilt. I didn't buy that coincidence BS for a moment." Sumire's gaze dimmed. "It wouldn't be the first time he has tried to push away someone close to me by using underhanded methods. Toh, I told you about Arashi-senpai didn't I?"
"You did." Toh paused. "Could it be Ichinose suddenly went abroad because-"
Sumire nodded. "It was Aki-san. I was furious when I found out. But he simply laughed me off and said it was for my own good."
"And was it?"
Sumire frowned. "I can't say it wasn't. Aki-san noticed I was becoming attached, and decided to cut him off before he could continue to influence me. When I spent time with Arashi-senpai, I was distracted from my duties and had my guard down. Aki-san noticed that, so he thought to correct it."
Toh didn't know what to say to that. He understands that Aki probably didn't want her to show weakness, just in case her enemies caught hold of it. But, he could have told her that directly instead of using underhanded methods.
"My safety has always been his priority, for as long as I have met him. But, he really does take it too far."
"So, him suggesting our break up is for your safety?"
Sumire nodded. "He told me that there have been too many unknown factors since we met, and while I acknowledge there have been a few incidents. It doesn't necessarily mean you are involved."
'Not directly.' At least none of the cases Sumire has been involved in. As for the rest of the chaos happening in town, he has played a role in those. Eventually she will find out, when she does. Her opinion of him will certainly change. The anger she displayed towards Aki, will be directed at him.
When that happens, what will he do?
