Disappointment

"Narcester! Narcester!" She walked at a fast pace and followed him, calling him out with an angry voice. Narcester pretended to not hear. A little tease won't hurt, would it?

"Narcester Thaddeus!" she yelled, clenched fists as she erupted. Narcester halted and turned to gaze upon her. "Did you just yell at me?"

Ah, right, teasing the waves is cardinal.

With all the anger she had that came along with the annoyance, she can't just back off. Eyes promulgated on them, just like earlier in the morning, they were capturing the scene just to spread the word.

Felicity arrived and she was in the front row, noticing how the tension between the spouses was, she instantly knew that they were fighting as it gave her a reason to grin with a satisfied expression.

"What if I did?" she raised her left eyebrow, totally different from the fidgety little Avie.

"Why did you do that? Your words will ruin me in public."

Ah, yes, it's the angered, public-conscious Avie in front of him. She's still on about the reputation she carries, the reputation of her father.

"Isn't it truthful? A married life needs a little bit of passion and spice, don't you think?" a little tease would do, Narcester can't just seem to find a stop to teasing this woman.

He looked around, seeing the eyes that promulgated at them. They were very curious. A fight after marriage, the media will create a fuss about it. He grabbed her hands and dragged her out of the public, to a lounge that was specifically meant only for him.

He locked the doors which seemed very confusing for Avyanna. "What's wrong with you, Narcester?"

"I'll ask you the same thing," he answered with a deep, husky voice.

"The whole thing will be out to the public, they'll judge me...and you!" she said in a frantic tone.

"Let them say what they want," he said with a cold expression on his face. He turned his face away from him, annoyance was sewn in his eyes.

"My dad wouldn't agree to this..."

He averted his gaze at her, she had a desperate gaze, a fear that she had. One where her father would declare her a disappointment, every move would be wrong as long as it involves the media. It will create a negative force once the media is involved, that's why Lanxter Klein made sure that only positive responses from people will come out.

A simple tease from here on there would make it hectic, people are sensitive to flaws, especially to the ones in the spotlight.

As Avyanna viewed it, that event outside won't garner the 'positive responses' her father would want. It would create bad touches of humor that could cause a downfall for them. She must act in perfection in all ways, it's the most desirable action her father would want her to take.

Once before as she knew, after her mother's death, her father kneeled in front of her as she was a little girl. He patted his head with sad eyes that gazed down at her, Avyanna remembered her crying because of the agonizing pain of loss, one at that, losing someone important.

"When you gain negative responses from everyone, you humiliate and disappoint me. Once that happens, you will become your late mother's disappointment too.`` That's what she remembered he said.

The young Avyanna widened her eyes, until her growth, she buried that deep in her mind, it is embedded in her every system. That alone can cause Avyanna to be very frantic and aggressive.

His cold gaze made her frozen, "What does your father get to do with your life? That's your life." he said with austerity.

She's at a loss for words. Somehow, she was unable to answer it. Narcester looked at her with a very serious look on his face. His eyes flaming.

He stepped closer to him, eyeing down, deep in her eyes. She backed herself with consecutive steps till she was away as he continued to step forward.

His cold gaze made her nerves shiver, he had eyes that look down at her with an austere look on his face. She felt the tensed look he had from his burning eyes, a little steps back, she felt the wall as her back leaned out. He was cornering her, in her fears came from those eyes, the eyes that could surely leave her frozen and trembling.

"I will repeat my question, little Avie. What does your father get to do with your life?"

She was at a loss of words, Narcester saw the expression she wore, it was a sacred face. He started to move back and coughed, he hates the fact of forcing someone, if ever that be, he'd turn into a monster he doesn't want.

"I'm sorry," he said as another cough followed, his eyes gave away an awkward look, averting his eyes away from her.

A consecutive knock was heard from outside, the door opened as it revealed Myrto. He looked at bothering with confusion, his thoughts came running free, but his induction is incorrect. He coughed with a gauche expression on his face.

"Sir, that is enough for now. I apologize for disturbing your 'moment' but Mr. Vargas is here, she's currently with Ms. Felicity. He wants to see your presence." The "moment" was airy as Myrto gave it a little emphasis.

"I see. You should go first, I'll follow," he replied.

Myrto looked at both with a suspicious glance, he turned to leave and peeked before he fully went away from their privacy.

Narcester looked at her, stealing a glance. He coughed pretentiously once more and austerely spoke. "You can get mad at me for what I did and reprimand me as I will take it but I still have work."

Avyanna was silent, she just looked at him with an expressionless face. "You can go home, I will tell Myrto to send you home. I'll be going now," he said and left.

Avyanna looked at the door, fully out of sight, she sighed with relief and fixed herself. That certain event never sunk in her mind, she just let it float away as soon as it happened. She has even forgotten what she was angry about after seeing those burning eyes of anger from her husband.

She went away, walking around when someone grabbed her hand. She shrugged, "Fuck Off!" Eyes once again averted on her. It seems like every move in this company is eye-opening, especially for the CEO, Narcester Thaddeus's wife, Avyanna Klein.

She looked to see a tall man, but it was only none other than the Greek butler, Myrto. He instantly apologized with a polite wording used, "Apologies, ma'am. I may have been disrespectful and might have taken up your personal space, I shouldn't have done that."

She awkwardly eyed the people around, all their eyes looked around her, she was getting too much shine from the spotlight. Her father certainly wouldn't like this. "I-It's okay. I just got...startled."

"Apologies again, ma'am."

She tilted her head, wondering, "What's your agenda?" she asked.

"Sir Narcester ordered me to send you home," he said with a straight face.

"I see. Shall we go?" she pointed to the exit.

"Yes, ma'am."

Myrto went out of the exit and took the car, he pulled over to the entrance of the building to where Avyanna waited. He got out of the car and opened the back seat, assisting her to enter.

Up in a transparent glass, Narcester's eyes looked upon them. He was keeping a straight smile as he pulled out his phone.

Inside the car, a notification popped up from her screen. It's a message from Narcester!

[Mr. Thaddeus: Do have a safe trip home. I'll go home around 7:00, let's have our first dinner together.]

She looked at the phone, unusually her belly started to feel shooting wings of butterflies aflutter. Like something made her very happy.

During that, Narcester looked back at his phone as a small 'ping' came through.

[Little Avie: Okay, sure.]

He saw the car drive off in the direction of his house. "Mr. Thaddeus!" a call from the background caught him.

"Yes, Mr. Vargas?"
