We Leave Tonight

The morning light filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow across the room. Amon sat at the edge of the bed, his mind already racing ahead to the task he knew he had to face today.

Lilith was still asleep, her soft breaths the only sound in the room, and for a brief moment, he wished he could stay in this quiet moment with her forever.

But he knew it was impossible—there were too many unanswered questions and far too many dangers still looming over them.

His thoughts drifted to Eucraick. There had always been something different about him, something Amon couldn't quite place.

The way Eucraick spoke, the way he seemed to know more than he let on—it made Amon wonder if perhaps there were answers he had been keeping from them all along.

The only way to find out was to go to him.

Gently, Amon stood from the bed, careful not to wake Lilith. He brushed a soft kiss against her temple, feeling a pang of guilt as he left her side.
