Striding across the refined hallway, Anxi was clad in casual wear, a white off shoulder shirt tucked under a blue high-waist palazzo bringing out her delicate features.
Her chestnut brown hair flowed freely behind her back, making her 'the eye of attention'.
She held a bucket in hand while the rest of her colleagues who walked past the hallway could not help but watch her curiously and quizzically too.
Unsure of her reason for holding a bucket but none of them bothered to ask her on either of the subjects.
She smiled politely at each of them as she strode by and she could already tell exactly what was riveting in their minds.
They must be wondering why she held a bucket in hand but if they're so curious to find out, why don't they just follow her? She smirked and walked into an office just by the right.
It was crowded, probably because the staff of the WBC company were holding an important meeting which she wasn't supposed to interrupt but oops.
They hadn't noticed her presence yet giving her enough chance to scan the area, her caramel brown eyes spotted a young woman amongst them, black wavy hair, dressed in pink, classy, young and most of all beautiful.
It's a good thing she remembered her description correctly.
Walking up to them, she dropped the bucket on top of their tables with a sound equally gaining their attention and disrupting their meeting. They turned their resentful gazes towards her but Anxi wasn't bothered about it in the slightest.
"Are you blind to see there's a meeting going on?" One of the staff among them raged, clearly displeased by her disrespectful intervention but Anxi only smiled and turned her attention to the lady clad in office wear.
"Are you by chance Ms Halton?" She politely asked but the lady raked her eyes over her, finding it quite suspicious for her employee to question her like that.
"Who's asking?"
"I'm sure you're not blind or too dumb to realize there's a person standing in front of you, so are you Ms Halton?" Although she asked politely, every word of hers stung her like poison ivy and that's when she snapped, getting up to her feet, her face morphed into the ugly look of anger.
"Is that how you speak to your employer? Who do you think you are?!"
The lady suddenly chuckled in a mocking tone, meeting Anxi's gaze.
"Hold on, where did you learn to even speak like that?"
After confirming she was really Ms Halton, Anxi continued with her process by bringing out a rope from the bucket, wrapping it up against her fair hand which left them confused, the whole staff was watching the scene now and the lady Anxi had her eyes on glared straight at her.
"What are you trying to do? Scare me?"
The smile slowly faded from Anxi's lips and the next thing…
The sound of rope slapping across the face of someone was heard and the whole place went silent as the sound vibrated through the whole room.
The lady couldn't even scream the moment she got slapped with a rope, traumatized by what just happened and when she turned to meet Anxi's gaze, she had a satisfied smile on her face seeing the painful red sign which had quickly formed on the lady's cheek.
"When you see that mark on your face, you'll think of me and how you ruined my life. I quit!!"
These were Anxi's last words to her before she turned and walked out of the office with her bucket in hand, The whole staff as well as her co-workers were left speechless by her act, it almost felt like they weren't staring at Anxi but a totally different person.
Anxi had only gotten a job in WBC last year and she was this timid girl who hid away from everyone, but never for once did she retaliate, what changed her all of a sudden?!
Anxi smiled triumphantly as she walked past the hallway again, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear, she got her revenge but it was small compared to what that manager let the innocent girl go through to the point of losing her life. As far as getting another job is concerned, she'll get a new job and start her life afresh.
Stepping out of the building, Anxi patiently waited for a taxi so she could return back home when a handsome fellow suddenly strode up to her, he flashed a charming smile at her direction which certainly caught her off guard.
"I hope you don't mind me having a word with you." He coquettishly said with a friendly smile, posing no sought of threat and Anxi nodded in response. He was actually a charming being, his amber brown eyes looked calm and sentimental like the flowing stream, his silver colored hair was stylishly combed on his head and he smiled warmly reminding Anxi of a delightful summer breeze and he equally had a striking physique.
"Yes, you can." She cordially replied.
"I want you to have this." He handed her a card which she suspiciously stared at but didn't collect, darting him a quizzical gaze in return.
"What is that?" Her questioning tone, giving away her confusion to the man.
"It's a business card, a friend of mine is in need of a secretary urgently and I'm wondering if you could take the job, show up at the interview tomorrow."
Anxi took hold of the card after hearing that and checked the name.
"Starcrest company?"
He nodded. "If you're interested, do show up and you'll be paid immensely for your job, you wouldn't want to miss this chance cause not everyone has the privilege to work there."
Anxi was confused. "But why would you hand it to me and who are you?" She had to be cautious, what if he's trying to scam her with his good looks and flashy smile.
"Just think of me as a friend, hoping to see you there." He winked and walked out, leaving her in her dazed state. Anxi studied the card for a few more minutes and it seemed legit, there was a number written underneath.
"Whose number is this?"
Damian got into the dark Porsche parked at a corner of the road and smiled at the person sitting beside him.
"It's done."
Xander's lips curled up slightly into a formidable smile as he gazed at the confused girl who kept staring at the business card through the car's mirror.
"I have to say she's beautiful, but what sort of business do you have with her?" Damian asked curiously because his mysterious friend here barely has time for women.
Xander didn't respond and only signaled to the driver to drive off.
