"I'll be expecting you soon uncle, talk later."
She disconnected the call with a satisfied smile.
Xandria just finished having a word with the Devil King when a sudden low growl behind her caught her attention, almost immediately due to her sensitive ears and she became alert.
She instantly spun around only to be met by a captivating wolf which stared straight at her with its amber brown eyes.
It looked so beautiful to the point Xandria couldn't help but stare at it, it's fur where silver in color with a little bit of gray close to it's shoulders and back, the belly side was lighter in color and although wolves were meant to be three feet tall, this one was much bigger to the point she would have mistook it for a lion if not for it's fox-like face.
She heaved a sigh of relief and eyed the wolf in front of her.
"Nice trick Damian, but don't scare me like that next time, for a sec I thought it was Xander who walked in."
Damian could already imagine how he'd roll his eyes if he was in his human form right now, he heard everything Xandria said on the phone and gave her a look that signified she was in deep trouble if Xander gets back.
"Don't stare at me like I committed some offense." Xandria didn't fail to notice his stare. "Xander is being too prideful and as his loving sister, it's my turn to do the needful so yes, I called Devil King over."
"Grrrrrr!!" A sudden growl escaped from Damian's throat as a way of opposing her words, for some certain reason he couldn't turn to his human form just yet which was quite normal for most werewolves.
He actually came over to talk with Xander but clearly that friend of his is nowhere to be seen. Being in his animal form right now, going out to look for him was already a no go.
"I see, stuck in your werewolf form again."
Xandria commented teasingly while Damian narrowed his eyes, he's had enough drama for a day, being the alpha of winter pack had really deduced his time and his beta had been suffering while handling most of his things for him.
The sacrifices he makes just to come here.
Xandria tsked and sat at the table. "Alpha Damian of winter pack, if it was possible to switch the roles of being an Alpha, you'd be long gone." She teased further but paused when she heard him snarl at her.
As much as they both worked together most times when it comes to handling missions, getting on Damian's nerve was another thing as he showed off his canine, indicating how easily it would be to chew her up as he took a predatory step towards her.
Xandria cautiously retreated on her step, she knew fully well he was doing this to scare her but it was difficult to maintain a straight composure like Xander seeing such a big wolf take such steps towards her.
How does that brother of hers even do it?
"Back off, my brother won't hesitate to kill you if you dare to touch me."
She threatened but that didn't slow him down as she noticed the tiny rings of mischief and danger dancing in his amber pupils.
She didn't need anyone to tell her as she took to her heels with Damian chasing her from behind.
"Ahhh!! Stop it! Damian!!"
Demons are equally fast when it comes to speed so the chase went on, one running and the other chasing.
There was no corner of the house she didn't run to but Damian was able to spot her and would come right after her.
Xandria came to a stop at the living room after realizing she wasn't being chased any longer and found Damian at the kitchen, opening a fridge to grab a bottle of water, he was back to his handsome human self again, Xandria gaze raked over him as she silently cursed his good looks.
"Did you give up after realizing I was too fast for you?" She teased further but Damian shot her a playful glare with no intention of going after her.
"I didn't give up, but I realized I'd rather save up my energy than waste it on you."
Xandria stuck out her tongue, making fun of him while Damian actually felt like stoning her with the water bottle in his hand, he'll deal with her another day.
Xander might act rude to his sister but no one dares lay a single finger on her and go scot free, it's like receiving a death certificate.

Xander strode across a dimly lit empty parking lot with a bat in hand, walking at a snail pace while letting his bat hit through the long iron poles.
He had traced a group of goons into this area but wasn't expecting them to hide away from him. He smelled a rat the moment he spotted them earlier and decided to follow them.
"I would really prefer it if I'm not stressed tonight, so come out let's just get this over with." He let the annoyance roll out of his tongue as his voice echoed through the parking lot.
The goons remained hidden behind the long rows of poles, holding two little children captive and covering their mouths in order to stop them from speaking.
They could hear the treacherous sound of the bat scraping through the iron poles, intensifying their fear as they had no idea who followed them here.
Xander took a deep breath to calm his nerves, he could feel the presence of those goons but the strangest part was, they weren't alone and he sensed it, making him wonder curiously if they brought a back up.
The three goons exchanged glances and seemed to talk with only their eyes, two held the children captive while the third goon chose to step out quietly, holding a wooden made dagger with the intention of sneaking an attack on the person who dared to interfere with their work.
Xander stopped in his tracks, rubbing the side of neck unable to deal with the suspense of waiting this long. He could easily track them if he wanted to but it wouldn't be as fun if they decided to show up on their own will.
THIRTY MINUTES EARLIER;
Anxi leisurely strode past the street of Yu City, going through her phone to watch some funny videos while eating some chips.
She closed from work early today since she didn't have much to do, getting home on time and equally having enough rest, but it got boring having nothing to do.
In her previous life, her so called parents would make her work till she could barely
stand on her two feet but ever since she woke up in this body, her grandmother has been nothing but sweet and loving, she barely lets her do anything in the house, using her work as an excuse.
She was craving for some snacks and decided to buy one, using it as an opportunity to take a little stroll and it has been a pleasant evening, not until a woman who seemed to be in her late thirties suddenly ran up to her, her eyes were swollen and filled with tears which left Anxi baffled.
The lady in front of her still looked young and actually pretty if she wasn't crying so much.
"Young miss, please I need your help, have you seen any two kids being taken away by some men, they were three of them dressed in black holding a little boy and girl, have you come across anyone like that?"
With the desperation in her tone and the tears in her eyes, Anxi actually pitied the lady and sadly shook her head in response.
"No ma'am, I haven't come across anyone like that, sorry."
The grief stricken lady actually took Anxi as her last hope but turns out, hope wasn't actually on her side, what is she going to do now? File a report?
"Is there something wrong ma'am?" Anxi asked out of pure concern and watched the lady hastily bring out her phone, showing pictures of her two little children.
"This...these are my kids, we were on our way from a concert when my lovely kids got abducted from me."
Anxi had suspected that to be the case and it tore at her heart, though she doesn't have any kids yet but she knew the pain would be quite unbearable, if they actually took her kids while going on foot, then it's impossible for someone to not have spotted them at least.
"Has it been long since this happened?"
She shook her head. "No, about ten minutes ago."
"Then they couldn't have gone that far, we'll find them, I'll help you search."
The lady nodded her head gratefully and they both went off to look for the children.
