Rapid Metal Work Advancement

At the onset of Dawn, Elias' head calmed down and he activated the Force-field Dome. He also spread the Fog above making it into a shade to deter birds from seeing inside the Island.

Hopefully, that will work.

But as he wanted to work, he realized that he couldn't observe the Island correctly using the Omni-view. In the end, he had to take the Fog back and decided only at night he would use it like that.

The discovery of Casting Wood allowed Elias to try so many moulds. His creativity went up a notch as he kept inventing new ways to make use of metals. 

But his main objective was to discover the right metal combination to make a very good Steel Alloy that will meet his demand. He tried many combinations of metal ratios. And he was able to accomplish many things.

And… the Island was smiling his way when he found Coal on the Sand—the Coking Coal. It was the Main Ingredient for standard Iron Steel he knew!

After a painstaking week, he managed to arrive at the best possible combination for the Crucibles. And he embarked on making them. He also finds a good combination to make a good Hammer Head. 

He had also gained a lot of familiarity in that regard due to making countless annoying mistakes. He concluded that the head should have Strength, Toughness, and Hardness or else it will deform, or break easily.

Over time, he also found another way to use the Virgin Casting Wood. And that was testing metal Hardness and Toughness as the Wood was naturally stronger than standard Steel, that was, of course, before it came in contact with fire.

Using that at advantage, Elias tested his Steels by clashing with the Wood. If it was able to withstand the Casting Wood, then it was good but if it was able to dent it in terms of Hammer or Scratch it if it was a Knife or any Sharp tool then they are perfect and not even the one improved by Wand can compare.

As he was new to it, Elias seldom used Telekinesis, but he realized that those metals made naturally were easier to control. And he had difficulty controlling the one improved with the Wand.

In the next two weeks, Elias' hard work had paid off through trial and error, in which he made countless mistakes but in the end, he can't be called anything short of a Blacksmith.

And in that time he was able to come to learn the good properties of Steel. Which are:

1~Strengths: the ability to withstand loads or tension.

2~Hardness: the ability to withstand blast deformation usually by penetration, scratching and scraping.

 

3~Toughness: the ability to absorb energy.

4~Ductility: the ability to deform without fracture.

5~Fatigue: the weakening of metal by repeated application of load.

6~Foldability: the ease at which the metal mould to a final tool, that is if different parts are concerned.

7~Machinability: the ease with which metal can be processed using cutting tools.

8~Corrosion: the ability to withstand corrosion like in the case of a humid place. 

At first, he didn't have a complete understanding of all of the above and the first three were the most important and the ones he needed the most. Well, that was then, now, it was Foldability and Machinability that concerned him together with corrosion resistance.

Elias has seen some of his metal corrode after being in damp Sand. Corrosion was solved with Nickel and Copper as they are resistant to it.

Elias stopped pedalling his bicycle as he read a rough blueprint he made on how to make a change in some gears.

He looked at the titanium bicycle and thought that on earth this will be considered a waste of metal, right?. But that wasn't his problem but the tires. They were not hard and tough enough to carry him for days without deformation.

He wanted to find the best combination to make them hard and tough but without increasing the weight.

He looked at the other tires that were collecting dust but they were too heavy and affected the whole ride negatively making the whole bicycle start to bend.

One can wonder if Elias dared to make a bicycle in his free time and also try to improve it. What about weapons?

People say if you see a lazy person then he either doesn't know what to do, or doesn't have the tools to do it, or he doesn't have a good motivation to push him forward!

Ever since Casting Wood came into his life, Elias has been over the top. He slept for only 3-4hr a day. For the remaining 20-21hrs, he was on his toes.

He never got attacked during the day but at night with the Fog shrouding the Dome, he worked at peace. As he understood that the Fog has some kind of Mystical Force and not even his Omni-view can peer through it with ease.

So, except if a bird is extremely intelligent, Elias has peace of mind that he would not be seen and he will be safe. 

And for that, in the night, he grinds the Wure soaked and burnt Ores and gets the Metal from them. As he also soaked the new Ores in Wure liquid. All that didn't require Omni-view. 

While in the day he will be burning the soaked Ores while also making ingots using Casting Wood. 

Casting Wood's ability to make the great mould, as well as remove impurities, and improve the metal was fully exploited by Elias

With that Elias struggled to make the best Crucible and improved the Foundry. At the same time, he was Casting Tools to improve his creations.

But after he discovered something, Elias realized that there was no need for his kinda Foundry. And the discovery was Firewood Charcoal. Yes, the Wure Wood Charcoal.

Firewood Charcoal can absorb Wure liquid in large quantities. For example, thumb-size Charcoal can absorb liquid obtained from three Wure wood. And it never got wet!

!Firewood is Wure Wood!

And if a fire was lit on it, it behaved as if it was a bursting flammable gas. And the fire always burnt upward with !Chiii! sound as if gas was leaving out fast. Adding another Wure Soaked Firewood Charcoal, they will bind together making the fire stronger.

A fist-size of that combination can last for four hours straight before it turns to ash. And the—Embers—are extremely hot the more Charcoal added.

The only downside was the Charcoal Embers will not die until it is drowned in water or burnt to Ash.

Heck, even the Ash was useful as it's a very good Adhesive. The sad thing was it needs enough water to moist it, which Elias wasn't willing to squander for no good reasons. 

But, another good use of the Ash was its Resistance to Fire.

What an irony, right?
