CH37: MOKA'S TRAINING (PART1)

[Progress 89%]

" What do you mean, Mr. Phoenix."

" You know what I mean. You must have parents out there. How many of you are there." Phoenix persistently asked. The girl eased up a little and begun to talk.

" The facility you rescued us from not only handle children with parents in jail but also children without parents. My parents left for work one day and never returned. My mom was the only advanced fire mutant like me, well, that's what she called it. Her fire was green while my dads' was plain red. I never saw or heard from them ever again and a month later, the blind man came and put me in that facility they call an academy. So to answer your question, I don't know how many are out there."

Phoenix didn't believe the girl for a second but seeing the tears rolling down her eyes made him trust her a little. " What's your name, young lady?"

" Moka Brantley."

" Well Moka, I've got news for you. Your little sparing sessions with the fireman earned you a slot with his team. He personally asked for you to train him when he's done with school. Is it okay with you?"

" Yeah, no problem. I'm down with it." Phoenix left the girl to do her things and headed back to his room to freshen up. When he was done, he drove off to a construction site that was a few blocks away from his mansion. The construction workers' numbers were too high and the machines, equipment and building materials were extensive. The building looked like it was nearly done and judging from its looks, it seemed like it could hold over ten thousand people. Its looks were not bad either since it resembled something out of a futuristic movie.

" Mr. Phoenix. The building is set to be completed by this weekend sir. We'll be out of here in no time." The head engineer said.

" That's really great to hear. Just don't tell anyone about this when your done, okay?"

" Understood." Phoenix was really having a school set up for the mutants but his other goals included having a mutant and normals' section in the school, so he had it divided in two. His goal was to make it look like this was the fire man's doing so that all the residents of Raid Town accept him.

" Phase 2 is almost done Phoenix. Now to start phase three."

------------------------------------

Raid High's principals and administrators had decided to shorten the school days for the students and allowed them to go home early since the previous week had some unseen short comings. Max and his friends took it as an opportunity and rushed out of the school. All, except Sue, had the fire walk state, although Max's was much faster. Sue was slowing them down, so Max carried her on his back and they all went to the warehouse. A few customers were around and the place wasn't so busy so they decided to leave it to their other comrades.

" Let's head to the back and practice some more Max. I wanna see how strong I can get." Rin said.

" Not from here. We'll end u being seen. Let's head over to the mansion instead, that way, we can practice our hearts out. Besides, there's someone I wanna see." Wondering who their leader was talking about, the teens ran all the way to Phoenix's mansion. Phoenix wasn't around but he had already set a couple of rules to keep the whole area in check. CJ, Rin and Sue went downstairs to the training room while Max looked for the advanced fire mutant.

He eventually found her and said, " Hey, I didn't quite catch your name."

" It's Moka. Nice to meet you again Maxy pad." The two barely knew each other but she was already calling him pet names.

" That blue fire bird skill, it was really impressive. I want you to teach me and my friends. Your already a part of our circle so, you have to tell us anyway."

" It's gonna be a little difficult for you since your a rookie but let's give it a shot. We'll have to do it outside of course."

CJ, Rin and Sue met Max and Moka at the backyard doing yoga. " Yo, I thought we were going to learn fire stuff, not just sit around and become enlightened." CJ teased. Moka caught eyes with CJ's now red ones and couldn't stop admiring the lad. She could feel her cheeks heating up a little, so she quickly looked away from him.

" If you want to learn proper fire technique, you need to be in sync with the biggest fire source, the sun. Only then will you be able to do this." Moka ran and jumped in the air, quickly transforming herself into her blue flamed bird again. She circled the entire mansion and landed back where she was.

" Awesome." CJ said which made Moka blush even more. The teens sat under the sun for thirty minutes straight but Max and Rin were starting to develop sun burns. Moka noticed this, so she moved on to the next step.

" This is something my parents taught me. In order to achieve great fire power, you should use your imagination. Let it run as wild as you wish. Make fire your servant and never allow it to become your master or els...."

" Yeah yeah we get it. Get on with the next step." Rin impatiently said. Moka frowned at her for a bit before she demonstrated. She made two medium-sized fire balls in her palms and slowly lifted them in the air. She then waved her arms around, making the fire seem alive. Their shapes started to change from balls to shapes of humans. She waved them again and they re-shaped themselves into mini fire dragons.

" This is my favorite move. Use this on any brainless guy and they'll literally run for their lives. Now you give it a try."
