It had something to do with an ogre colony in the far south region, pretty much the end of the forest.

The ogres weren't posing much danger to the adventurers or the city itself but rather the traders and merchants. So far, no deaths- but lots of injuries and lost goods.

That was another reason why not many people were coming here despite the harpy mating season being over.

Basically, they couldn't come in the first place- as the southern route was the main one.

I got 250 gold coins along with a horse for completing the previous ruby quest.
