"Another group of slime? When will this dungeon end?" Calle said as he threw another condensed mana ball towards a group of 4 blue slimes that were oblivious about Calle's and Edric's presence 10 meters away from them.
And of course, the 4 slimes were quickly obliterated with just one of Calle's condensed mana blasts.
Calle had become proficient enough in handling mana in his body that he started feeling bored of just throwing condensed mana blasts that he could create in a second toward the groups of dormant blue slimes that weren't even capable of fighting back against him.
Just like when you cheat in a video game, it was fun at first, but without any challenge whatsoever and if you can just blast your way through everything, the video game would become boring sooner or later, no matter how much fun you had at first.
Fortunately for Calle, it wasn't to be the case as he finally found something that he had never seen before.
After Calle killed another bunch of blue slimes at the cave, he was met with another turn behind those slimes, and when he finally took the turn, Calle was met with yet another cave tunnel, but this time, it was significantly taller and wider compared to the usual cave tunnel that he had walked through so far.
He looked around the cave tunnel to see whether there was any difference, but other than the place seemed to be significantly larger and had a much higher ceiling than before, there was nothing else worth mentioning until he finally saw groups of slimes not too far away from him.
At first, he thought it was just another group of slimes that needed a couple of condensed mana blasts so that he could go pass through them, but observing them more, Calle finally noticed an anomaly among the usual group of blue slimes that he had encountered tens of times so far.
And it was the existence of a green-colored slime
It had the same size and shape as the blue slime, but as its name suggests, its colors were green. But the color difference wasn't the only thing that was different between the two slimes as their habits were different.
While the blue slimes stayed dormant until Calle went inside their detection range, the green slime continued bouncing around left and right and went over from one group of blue slimes to another group, stopping for a while before it continued moving again.
And besides that, Calle didn't know anything else about the green slime. But he knew that he still needed to defeat the green slime if he wanted to clear the dungeon so he decided to take a precaution and measure the green's slime capabilities first.
Calle then told Edric to fly away for a while in this fight and told him to prepare his mana blast just in case there's an emergency where Calle needed his help before finally, he created two condensed mana blasts in both of his hands.
After throwing the condensed mana blasts tens of times even Calle had gotten much better at throwing the mana blast using his left hand, and now he planned to throw two at the same time to see whether he could deal with the green slime just like he dealt with the other blue slimes.
After a quick observation of the green slime, Matthew had figured out the green slime's moving pattern, a skill that he got from playing hours of video games. And using the moving pattern, Calle waited for the perfect timing when the green slime went over to a group of blue slimes and stopped on the ground near them for a few seconds.
And that was exactly when Calle decided to throw in his two condensed mana blasts from left and right respectively, sandwiching the green slime in the middle of them.
Any blue slimes in the room would be erased from existence if they were to be hit by one of Matthew's mana blasts, and if it was two condensed mana blasts, then that would be guaranteed that no slime would have survived the impact.
Or at least, that was what Calle thought when he sent the two condensed mana blasts towards the green slime.
The moment the condensed mana blasts shot through the air and arrived in front of the green slime in a blink of an eye, the green slime suddenly released a blast of green-colored mana to the ground, sending its body flying up through the air, entirely dodging both of Matthew's condensed mana blasts.
And while the green slime was able to get out of the predicament unscathed, the group of slime that was still on the ground and wasn't able to react to the two condensed mana blasts was simply unfortunate and none of their remains were left on the ground except for a sizable crater that was the result of two condensed mana exploding together.
The green slime flew so high up that it almost reached the ceiling of the large cave tunnel that was about 5 men tall and when the dust cloud from the condensed mana blast explosion was still flying around everywhere, the slime was still on its way, falling to the ground.
Seeing this, Calle realized his chance of hitting the slime that was still airborne with no ground to bounce on and quickly got out of his daze from having his attack dodged by a single slime.
Calle then quickly made another two condensed mana blasts on his hands and sent them flying once again to the green slime that had nowhere to go in the air.
But alas, the slime once again blasted a green-colored mana to its side when Calle's condensed mana blasts were about to hit its body, using the momentum of the blast to send itself away from Calle's mana blasts trajectory. Once again saving itself from being obliterated by Calle's mana blasts.
Calle wasn't able to see it earlier, but he could definitely see it now. He thought that the slime had some kind of ability to make itself bounce high up in the air, but now that he had seen it with his own eyes, Calle could finally see the green-colored mana blast that the green slime did to launch itself away, dodging his attacks.
Right after dodging Calle's attack, the green slime was finally able to land safely on the ground near another group of blue slimes, away from the dust clouds and the crater. Other creatures would have to face the impact of falling from about 9 meters away from the ground, but the slime didn't have any organs, and its bouncy body was able to absorb the impact just fine without a single injury on its body that could be said to be almost immune to physical attacks in the first place.
Calle's eyes then locked onto the green slime, trying to understand the slime better.
'How did it react and move so fast?'
'Why is its mana green?'
'If it was even able to dodge even the condensed mana blast when it was still falling mid-air, then how can I kill it? What kind of attack can catch up to its speed?'
