They were to leave the capital?
Mei Deng could barely sleep the entire night and instead pondered over what the duke said to him. The issue so bothered him that he decided to take a stroll to clear his head.
It was during that stroll that he encountered the imperial consort and her handmaids, who by the look of things had come seeking him.
Mei Deng respectfully clasped his hands to Xīnyí, not wanting a repeat of what happened with the other consort from earlier.
"That's enough, I didn't come here seeking pleasantries with you. Someone wants to have an audience with you." She said in a sultry tone. Mei Deng furrowed his brows, utterly confused over who he might know inside the palace.
Right before he could ask, the consort answered his puzzled expression, "we don't have much time, he's requested to see you before the execution tomorrow." She told him and turned to lead him towards the prison.
