Return To the Red Planet

The light from the warper faded, and the buzzing hum of its energy died down. Jake and Amber stood still for a moment, adjusting to the sudden shift in temperature and air density.

They were no longer in Jake's home, at least, not the one on Earth.

The scent of air, the faint metallic tinge of blood, and the cool, heavy atmosphere unique to the vampire planet greeted them like a thick cloak wrapping around their bodies. Light red curtains rustled softly against the walls of the room they'd materialized in, stirred by a cool breeze.

Amber blinked her eyes and glanced around, her arms folded across her chest. "This isn't a city like you said."

Jake rubbed the back of his neck, letting out a nervous chuckle. "Yeah… It's my residence. I must have forgotten that the warper defaults to the coordinates set."

She narrowed her eyes at him, her tone flat. "Did you bring me here just to try something lewd with me?"
