"A bath?"
Jiang slowly opened his eyes and looked at her weirdly.
"N-no! It's not like that, Young Noble," Xue hurriedly said and waved her hands.
She realized he misunderstood it from the look on his face. Her face blushed slightly and made her look like ripe fruit for the taking.
"Might as well," Jiang said and nodded his head.
He was calm even though she just said something people might easily misunderstand. The prime reason for this was because of his state of mind as he cultivated his hair strands.
Each hair strand needed meticulousness, patience, and calm. It unknowingly brought Jiang significant benefits. It polished his mind to a state of calmness in a stormy sea.
"F-follow me," Xue said while stuttering in embarrassment.
Jiang stood up and followed after her. They headed to a different part of the Guo clan.
"Do you have any spare clothes, Young Noble? I didn't see your Storage Ring with you," Xue asked as they walked.
"Storage Ring?"
Jiang furrowed his eyebrows at the unfamiliar term she used.
"How cruel. Your enemy also stole your Storage Ring," Xue said and nodded her head solemnly.
She realized how things became for him and felt terrible. He lost everything he initially had—his cultivation, memories, and belongings.
"What is it? Is that an item exclusive to cultivators?" Jiang asked.
He was clueless about things like that because he never planned to embark on cultivation. He was satisfied as a mortal back at Quan village. Of course, things changed now.
His greatest ambition today was to climb higher and higher until he could eventually complete his revenge.
"Correct, Young Noble. It has a special spatial dimension inside that could store non-living items," Xue explained.
"Can I see one?"
"Wait. We're here, Young Noble," Xue said.
Jiang focused on what was in front of them. It was similar to a bathhouse with its huge size. A large cloth hung on the doorway and covered what was inside.
"I don't have any spare clothes," Jiang said.
"I will go get one for you, including a Storage Ring," Xue replied.
"I see. Thank you. I will repay it all back once I remember our past."
"Hehehe. Don't worry, Young Noble. You are my Master, and I won't make it hard for you." Xue smiled at him.
"Mm."
Jiang had a complicated look on his face when he heard her say that he was her Master. It felt surreal that he suddenly got a disciple without him knowing. He really needed to get his memories back, or it would only confuse him more.
"Then, enjoy the hot spring, Young Noble," Xue said before leaving.
Jiang entered the bath and stared in awe at its size. He was a certified country bumpkin. They would usually only take a bath using buckets of water.
This was the first time he saw such luxury.
Jiang walked along the stone-tiled path and enjoyed the scenery. It was hard to see things more than 10 meters away. The steam from the hot spring clouded the whole area in a fog.
Jiang took off his clothes and slid into the water. He looked around at this place and felt lonely all of a sudden. He remembered his mother and wondered what she was doing right now.
Jiang soaked in the water for quite a while. Suddenly, footsteps approached him.
He looked over and saw a pair of slender legs. He looked up and saw Xue covered in a towel.
"Young Noble, how about I wash your back?" Xue asked.
"W-wash my back?"
Jiang lost his calm after he heard her words. He widened his eyes and blinked repeatedly.
"I-I used to d-do this to you…" Xue said with a red face.
She fidgeted and looked away from him. Her current appearance stirred Jiang's soul. He was immediately reminded of Lin Fengfang, and he looked away from her.
"Damn it," Jiang silently cursed to himself.
He was traumatized by Lin Fengfang's betrayal, and he could even see her in other women.
"A-actually I lied…" Xue revealed as her whole body turned red.
She immediately lost courage like a kitten. She imagined washing his back, which made her feel hot all over her whole body. It wasn't something she could boldly do.
"H-huh? You lied?"
"I'm sorry, Young Noble! I actually tried to take advantage of your amnesia!" Xue shouted and sincerely bowed to him.
"...You can do it if you want," Jiang said slowly.
He calmed himself and repeated his mantra, "One hair at a time, patience is a virtue. One hair at a time, patience is a virtue…"
He immediately calmed down as if he was cultivating his hair strands. He thought of this as training to let go of Lin Fengfang's influence on his mind.
"Really?"
Xue blinked her eyes at him. She was surprised he agreed when she had already told him she had lied.
"Just don't look at my face. It reminds me of her," Jiang said.
"I understand."
Suddenly, a small stool appeared in Xue's hand. She placed it on the floor and patted it.
"Sit here, Young Noble."
"What? How?"
Jiang stared at the small stool in disbelief. It suddenly appeared in front of him. It shocked him to the core.
"Here. This is your storage ring, Young Noble."
Xue gave him a small silver ring with a small bluish crystal engraved.
"How does this work?"
"Focus your mind on the ring and use your energy to select an item inside."
Jiang wore the ring on his ring finger and closed his eyes. He focused on the ring on his finger.
*Fwoosh*
His mind entered the storage ring. He saw ten sets of clothes inside, gold, and other valuable-looking things.
"This is my gift to you, Young Noble."
Xue smiled at him. Jiang stared at the storage ring in disbelief. He suddenly felt that being a mortal was boring.
A cultivator had endless possibilities in life, and a mortal lived like a frog in their own well without realizing the large world outside of it. The realization increased Jiang's motivation to cultivate.
