The Curse Is Real

***ALEX'S POV***

I agreed with Alina. I was going to wait until the morning to see the spell, or rather the curse, take its effect on me. I was going to keep track of the time, as best as I could in a world that relied on intuition and sundials to tell the time. And when the sun was about to rise, I was going to make sure that I wasn't doing anything dangerous. I didn't want to be hurt.

Alina went to the kitchen again as the night moved on. She prepared a meal for the both of us that she brought to the room. She served me and was about to leave the room when I told her to sit.

"You can eat with me now, Alina." She jumped when I told her this. "There is no one that will say anything about it, since they are all asleep at the moment. You may share this meal at my table with me, so that we may be considered friends."

"P..Princess, that is not right. I am your servant, I cannot be your friend." She tried to object and leave the room.
