You Play Your Part, I Play Mine

Richard continued talking to people until they wanted to meet Laney personally and he realized that she was nowhere to be found. Probably in the bathroom or something. When he finally did spot her, she was coming back from that general direction.

He flagged her down and she came over and smilingly introduced herself while holding on to his arm as if she was truly a woman in love on her wedding day. Her acting was truly top-notch and he would need to tell her so later.

He didn't get the chance until the reception was over. "Ugh, I'm glad that's over."

Laney laughed. "You too, huh?"

Richard hadn't even realized how much she wanted to get out of there because her acting had been so thorough. "You did a great job hiding how much you wanted it to be over with. You seemed just like a bride on her wedding day should. Well done."

"Thanks. You really think I fooled them?"
