Always A Good Choice

Sam hadn't expected to be invited to spend Christmas with Daniela. He hadn't spent a holiday with anyone since his uncle kicked him out and he wasn't exactly the holly jolly type anyway.

The thought of not having to be alone on a holiday for the first time in years helped bolster him even as he drowned himself miserably in studying. He had so much to do between his regular classwork and LSAT practice tests that he thought he might die.

If he was working any other job where he wasn't able to get his homework done, he wouldn't have survived. He didn't like having to tell Daniela not to come but he would never get what he needed done otherwise.

He hadn't expected her to hug him over it though. She had never done that before.

Sam couldn't deny he missed her despite his busyness. He had missed her during midterms too. Things felt off when he couldn't see her.
