Weren't We All?

Joy beamed so brightly her cheeks hurt. "Yeah. That sounds great. Thanks for telling me what you want, Derek."

"Guess I need to do that more often," Derek said with a laugh.

"Good idea."

"Well, there is something else I want. I really want to kiss you again."

That was adorable. Joy couldn't help but laugh too as she moved closer to kiss him. She had missed this a lot more than she had been willing to admit even to herself.

She had been so young when she was widowed but her life was far from over. Paul would want her to be happy. She knew that. He wouldn't begrudge her the chance to love and be loved again. It was finally time for her to move on.

Joy had spent too much time in the past already. She couldn't spend a second more wallowing. Part of her would always love him and the time they had shared together but that didn't mean that it was all there ever had to be. There was plenty of love to go around.
