Zane was more a little pissed now that he'd agreed to give up cigarettes. The nicotine would've been a welcome relief to the anger he felt.

Something to take the edge off the intense emotions. How could his father still choose to be such a problem after all these years?

Was it really all that hard for him to see the mistakes that he made and admit to them? Perhaps it would somehow be the death of him were he to do something like that.

Zane no longer had the energy to care though. He wouldn't be going back. No point in it as there would only be more heated words exchanged between the two. Even if Bernard decided not to return, Nathan would want to speak. Something that Zane didn't trust himself to allow.

Anger made people say things that they could later come to regret. The young mafioso might not have had any regrets when it came to his father, that didn't mean though he wanted to risk ruining the partnership with Nathan.
