I woke up in the hospital I am hooked up to an IV and I see my bro sitting in the chair beside my bed sleeping, that means he has been here for a while now.

I looked around for my phone but it is nowhere to be seen, picked my brother's phone from the table to look at the time 5pm 23 April 2022, 2 weeks from when I can remember.

'Have I really been out for that long, it can't be that hunger can make someone go into a comma for 2 weeks'

*hunnnnnnggg*

'That sound again, why isn't bro waking up to such a load sound, is he that tired that something so load can't wake him.'

A nurse walks in and sees me sitting up, she quicky turns around to get the doctor I suppose but then I stopped her and said,

"excuse me can you find out where that load gong is ringing from and if possible, could you ask them to stop with the noise?"

"Sir there is no gong sound around this ward and the musk is not close enough to hear it from here."

'She can understand me?'

"Oh, okay thank you."

"Sir let me go and get the doctor he will be with you shortly," she said as she bolted out of there.

My brother came through and was shocked and happy to see me awake, he asked if was alright, what I needed, and all that, I just told him I was fine and the doctor will be here soon.

I just finished talking when the doctor and the nurse came in, he introduced himself and proceeded to ask me a lot of questions, which somehow went towards my diet and what I have been eating lately.

I answered all his questions of course elimination the part about me experiencing an unexplained possibly 2 days of nothingness.

"Mr. Terwase you were brought to this hospital in a coma and you presented with signs of starvation and it seemed you have not eaten anything in a very long time, we had to use over 50 bags just to keep your condition from getting worse," said the doctor.

"No, I had something to eat that very day I was brought here, just before I collapsed so I don't understand what happened to me at all"

I replied, the doctor gave me a look that said he was not happy with that answer

"you are his brother right erm … Mr.?"

"Shande"

"okay mr Shande we would like to keep your brother for another 2 days before we discharge him"

"have you found the reason why his body reacted that way?" my bro asked

"sorry sir we are still running tests to find out what the reason is, we will direct you to a cardio clinic where you would need to run some tests that we can't run here."

"Okay I will come and see you for those later" replied shande.

After the doctor and the nurse leave, my bro turns to me and said

"2 days and you completely disappear, and now you come back only to have to go the hospital. What is going on man I thought you were getting your sh*t together, working out, eating right, and cutting back on your smoking, tell me what is going on."

I look down feeling guilty of not being able to say the truth and said,

"bro it is nothing like that I am doing all those things but I went to a friends' place to stay cuz I didn't have any money to eat, I didn't expect my phone to die and I didn't have anyone's number off-head,"

he looked at me knowing I was lying through my teeth and shakes his head saying "I don't want to hear lies, but it is your life you are already 30yrs so I wouldn't say anymore other that, you are going to have to pay me back for the medical bill,"

saying so he walked out of the room presumably to go and see the doctor.

I got up and went to the bathroom, looking into the mirror I whispered

'water'

although nothing happened, I felt something in me. I put on the tap while looking at the water I tried to get that feeling again

*splash*

'hahahah, yes that means I got powers but is it water bending or elemental magic, hahaha.'

I feel so giddy that I forgot that I just spilled water over my clothes and I was still in the hospital.

'Ter what makes water H2O, how did water bending work again, argg, I can't remember much about it.'

'I will just focus on that feeling yes meditation should work for that.'

I sat on my bed calming myself and trying not to think about anything else, clearing my mind of anything and just allowing myself to drift.

The time in what I will call the void from now on taught me how to empty my mind to pass the time, this time my mind goes into the void again but this time it is not just blackness there are colors everywhere 'urgg' lost focus for a second but I got into the meditation.

My brother come back into the room and informs of the doctor's plans for the rest of my stay in the hospital, nothing much just monitoring and IVs for nutrients to stabilize fully.

So, the next 2 days were really boring but chatting with nurse Halima was the highlight of my time there.
