"You are men now, do need your mother tits for some milk, PUSH AS ONE"

"A-HOH"

"Keep your line as you push, non shall go before the other, be as one"

"A-HOH"

"Switch"

"huff" "huff" "huff"

"Finally, that was harder than getting up a whore's arse," complained Daedalus.

"Like you will ever know," Hector said.

"HAHA"

We are laughing but all of us know, that was the most grueling training we have ever experienced. We have been started before the sun rose and it is almost ready to set. Apart from one break for food we have been practicing formations, some with only us new recruits and the rest with veterans.

"It is late, my body is tired, I shall retire to my quarters less I become weak tomorrow." I said to all of them as I left.

I got to my room, turned out the candle and sat on the floor cross-legged with my spear on my lap. I feel out the body with my hands to see if there is a difference from yesterday when I checked it. I stand and start swinging my spear, it is not comfortable in this tight space, but my goal is complete control.

After numerus swings, nothing. I decide to go the slow route, each swing as slow as possible with the best form possible.

Taking my stance, I tense my body to control the energy generated from my toes all the way to my hands, and thrust in a slow motion. It is extremely awkward, as I am used to moving my weapons with the most amount of strength and speed possible.

I continue trying to get the feeling right as I thrust, scrape, swing, and plunge my spear. I spend about 1 minute per swing, realizing it is consuming much more energy than I anticipated so after 2 hours, I decide to retire for the night to get some rest.

The next day we are woken up before the sun has a chance to rise or even think about rising. We rush to the drill grounds for the days activities.

"The sun god Apollo has yet to visit sparta, we must meet him in reverence."

"You must all complete your pushing, siting, jumping, and quick motion before he come."

"Those that are unable to succeed will not be feed today," the drill instructor commanded.

'Honestly I would be confused if dad had not trained me,' *sigh* I lamented to myself.

The drill comprises of a thousand pushups, sit-ups, jumping squats, and a short 10 meter dash to-and-fro 100 times for each set. From my calculation we have just about 2 ½ hours to complete this workout, before the sun rises. Before I let for the survival test, I could do 500 of all except the dash in just under an hour, now it is double with the dash.

Everyone starts the work out

"This should be easy," commented Daedalus

"Wait till you finish before making that comment," a reply from Leonidas.

"Hmm" X4

This pushed us to our very limit, by the time we reached 800 pushups, there was already some hands shaking among us. We survived that only to experience the same thing on the other 2 workouts. One thing of note though was that the veterans started with the jumping squats, instead of pushups, and we found out why when it was time to start the dash.

Exhausting the energy within the muscles before using them for and even more strenuous workout is a bad idea. Which we learnt the hard way, running felt like we had heavy shackles on our legs.

"Push through the pain and obtain victory," said Leonidas as he tried to motivate us.

"Our enemies will not give us the chance to rest before attacking"

It seemed to work as we managed to finish the last lap. Collapsing on the ground like we had o more bones in our bodies. I was not doing better than the rest even though I can control the energy distribution of my body, I might even be worse off.

My whole body was clamoring for energy that I forced to go to my legs, lungs, and heart, forcing me to try to burn as much fat I had in my body to compensate for the energy loss.

That is when I felt it, something that I have not experienced in over 10 years, hunger. Mind numbing hunger, that felt like everything in my body was looking for a way to get some energy. This was the same state I was in when I just got back from the abys, although not as severe but still terrible.

I hold on as long as I can since food is just around the corner. After hailing the arrival of the sun, we were given food. Which I devoured like someone who has never had anything to eat before,

"Slow Down Atredies, the food shall not go missing if you eat slower," mocked Daedalus

"You behave like this is your first and last meal at the same time,"

"HAHA" X6

"I need to replenish what I have lost during this drill," I said, not wanting to continue talking as I focused on the food.

Even though I said that, my mind is trying to monitor the energy that is being consumed by my body. The last time this happened, I had eaten and nothing came of it, I am hoping that this would not be the case again. Thankfully it was not, after having 4 servings of food I was not feeling the hunger anymore.

"Atredies, you have eaten too much, now you shall be slow in the next drill," said Leonidas

"This is not my first time experiencing this, I will be fine"

"Besides, a warrior needs to feed the body so that he can have energy in reserve when fighting a long battle," I told them in conclusion.

"Very well, I will trust you this time, besides you might have to put that to the test soon." Commented Leonidas cryptically.
