A year has passed, and I have grown stronger with each passing day. My shape is not as V, as it once was due to me training my sides to be able to move faster and handle rotation more. I am still 6ft 7" tall, that is because I turned all the remaining growth energy, I had to strengthen my bones and increase the density of the muscles I have.
My back has grown bigger but doesn't affect my flexibility, I trained in yoga to offset my musculature. Although I didn't grow any bigger, for the most part, the amount of the power I can exert is at its highest and possibly the highest it will ever be.
If anyone from the 21st century were to find me now, they would think I am part of the earliest versions of the homo-sapiens. I have had to cut down on my self-grooming, my clothes ruined in the various fights I have been in, and in my wisdom forgot to get a change of clothes before I left. All I have left I fashioned into something like a loincloth to cover myself.
I am currently crouched in the bushes about 100 meters away from a group of animals that look like antelope. I've learned that this is the maximum I can get to an animal before I am inevitably noticed, either that or I am just bad at this. The herd is in the middle of grazing, they have been at it for 20 mins now, that means they are less alert and I can get a few steps in before they bolt out of here.
My legs bulge a little as my muscles expand, the ground beneath me caves in a little, and my fingers exert cave in the ground, while I lean forward ready to dash.
*boom*
Pushing off the floor in a mad dash forward, I alert the herd of my coming. They immediately start running off, sighting one of them lagging behind, I immediately turn my attention to it. It takes me 10 sec to get close to it 'Yeah, Michael Phelps can suck it', these animals can run, just keeping up with it is a bit taxing. Just as it makes a turn in its zig-zag running,
I see an opening and pounce on its neck. I don't have the jaws of other predators, so my only option is to break its neck. Strengthening my arms, I twist its neck causing it to fall on the ground, immediately putting pressure on the rest of its body, I twist its neck further killing it instantly.
I rush back to the place I was in the bushes to get my knife to skin the antelope. Cutting its neck to let it bleed, then cutting down its stomach to let out its organs, then cutting around its meat to separate the skin from it.
While I am working, a cub that looks like a lion comes close to me, ignoring it since I know it cannot cause me any harm, I continue my work on the carcass. This is a great state of negligence on my part because out of nowhere, I feel the air vibrate a little.
I can feel a large thing moving towards me at great speeds, although I can't see it, from its shape it can be the cub's mother since it has no main. Closing in on me from 5 meters to 4 … 3 … 2 …I jump out of the way. It misses me by an inch, turning around with a kick to greet my opponent, which on the impact felt like I kicked a wall.
I finally see what it was and boy was I wrong, I thought the last time was just a fluke of creation, but here it is again, a f**king liger. Although it is smaller than the last one Daedalus and I killed, I know how strong this type of animal can be. Retreating a little bit, I know that to gauge my progress I must overcome this obstacle, but last time I had all my weapons, and this time on, only a knife for skinning and treating meat.
Dropping the knife I took the posture of a Mutai fighter, I know my fists can't overcome its skin thickness and muscle density, therefore I must go for internal damage. I rushed at it aiming for a kick to its head, it responded with its jaws open coming for that leg. Pushing off the ground with my other leg, and drawing back my feet, letting my knee collide with its temple, we separate from each other.
Not planning to give it any chances, I rush in before it could respond, I curl my arms, extending my elbow and my core outward, bringing the full weight of my upper body down on its spine. Instead of it falling and in pain, I am the one feeling the pain in my elbow, I guess its back isn't really that weak.
'Black'
Through my stay here, I noticed that what I can see and what I can understand are not always the same. I can see the heat produced by living things in my silent vision, but that is blurred and more general in the information it provides. Black allows me to see places on the body that have less heat, which means places in the body that are weaker.
A very amazing thing no doubt, yet it drains too much energy, which is why I don't like using it. This time though, I am thankful that I did, this liger has weaker muscles on its right shoulder. Capitalizing on that I dodged a swipe of its right claw by spinning around and coming onto that shoulder with my knee, causing it to buckle back. I move in with another elbow this time on the top of its head, bringing it to the ground.
It is infinitely better to kill it, but I have achieved victory and I already have food to eat, therefore I can't justify killing eat. Walking to my kill, I finish skinning it and am prepared to leave with it when I notice that the liger and its cub are still here. I cut the antelope in half leaving with the bottom half.
This is to be my last day here, as I have accomplished all that I want to do for now. With 20 yrs of being in this era, it is time for me to go out and see what I can of this world before I inevitably meet my end.
