Admiring aquatic life

Tom's father was just about to give up when Josh's father jumped in once again to save the day. "Well actually, Mr fishies is a type of shark-" he started, and as he was saying this, Tom's father was giving him a grateful look, but soon Tom interrupted Josh's father too.

"No, Mr fishies is Mr fishies. He's not a shark." He stated stubbornly with a pout on his small and cute face.

Both Joshua's father and Tom's own father bit their lips and felt as though they were about to vomit blood from having to negotiate with such an unreasonable small child. Even worse, he looked so cute that you couldn't help but forgive his infuriating actions. Both of the fathers quickly gave up and instead tried to change the topic of the conversation to save their own sanity.

As the two fathers were just standing there looking at one another and at the child and weren't saying anything, Tom was still stubbornly puffing out his cheeks, his eyes were shut tight and he began shaking his little fists around. He was determined to get people to see that Mr Fishies was just Mr Fishies.

Both of them let out a sigh of defeat, a smile on both of their faces and their eyebrows were slightly furrowed. They couldn't help it, they both really loved children, it was such a shame to them that they knew one day their boys would grow up and grow out of their cute stages.

However, Tom, hearing the sigh opened his beautiful wide eyes, they shone with the reflection of the lights making them sparkle slightly. Both of the fathers, Tom's father especially, could feel their hearts being stabbed by the cuteness. It was really too much.

Joshua's father pat Tom on the head and ruffled his hair gently, he was looking at this soft child with an extremely gentle look, after a while he then looked away from Tom and instead focused his gaze on his own son who was a couple of dozen meters away staring into the shark tank.

Joshua in his own right was cute, however, he had more of a boyish charm and was somewhat rebellious. Josh's dad pouted when looking at Josh and prayed silently for his son to become more like this delicate flower he was patting gently. Tom seemed so much easier to handle and he was so cute that it almost seemed illegal.

However, after being patted for quite a while, Tom slipped away from Joshua's father's gaze and raced over to go to Josh's side. When he got to Josh he gently tugged on his T-shirt, trying to get his attention.

Joshua looked at him and nodded with a warm smile on his face briefly before he went back to looking at the sharks. Tom smiled back brazenly before joining him in looking at the sharks.

They both stood stiff, rooted to the spots on which they were both standing respectively. Their eyes were wide and every fibre of their being went perfectly still, they didn't move at all, not even an inch. They were immersed in the sharks, they swam beautifully, and they were incredibly majestic.

Tom didn't even know how to swim, so to him what they were doing was even more amazing. Tom had tried to learn once but had almost drowned, he had been somewhat scared to go back to try again which is why he'd been putting it off.

However, seeing such a massive creature swimming so beautifully only caused Tom to want to be able to swim all the more. He longed to be able to swim with the sharks, to be able to be as majestic as those animals, to swim so beautifully and act so majestically.

Suddenly, Josh pulled Tom's arm gently and started dragging him to another exhibit he'd seen, Josh and a wide smile on his face as he led Tom to a tank with a couple of dolphins, Tom started counting them with his fingers and saw around three.

Once they reached the side of the tank Josh let go of Tom's arm gingerly and instead attached himself to the tank to marvel at the dolphins. Tom did the same and soon the only sounds that could be heard were the hustling and bustling of other passerbys looking at the different tanks and aquatic life forms.

Josh and Tom were silent and didn't share any words, they only collectively admired the awesome looking dolphins that they were looking at. Soon a woman walked up to the opening at the top of the tank and stared feeding them with fish, the dolphins started doing tricks, jumping out of the water and shaking fine with the woman, things like that. As they did this, they each received a fish as a treat.

Josh and Tom were inherently jealous when looking at the woman having fun playing with the dolphins, Josh pouted because he wanted to do what she was doing but he knew he wouldn't be able to. That was, of course, because he read a sign that said in huge bold letters, "DO NOT FEED THE FISH".

As the two boys were sulking jealously at the woman who was having the time of her life, they didn't notice that a dolphin had slowly swam to and approached them. They only realised as the dolphin had reached the glass and was almost touching it. Suddenly, the dolphin touched the part of the glass which was on the other side of where Josh's hand was on the glass, and this caused Josh to start panicking silently, panicking in a good way, of course, as he was half amazed and half shocked that a dolphin would take notice of him.

Tom who was also flabbergasted and had his mouth hanging open, like with Josh, regained his sense as a pout once more formed on his small face. His pout seemed even more displeased than before as he watched his friend get all the attention, however, deep down he felt that it was extremely cool that a dolphin did that.

Soon the dolphin moved over and started playing with Tom through the glass instead, the dolphin spin around a few times and did a few tricks, leaving Tom's and Josh's eyes shining due to happiness, and leaving their faces with wide grins.
