natural-born leader

"Legendary beast chimera:

Gender: male

Level: 0

skills:

active: ___

passive: absorption level 1 (can absorb other creatures' essence evolve.)

strength: 0

agility: 0

stamina: 0

mana: 1000"

"a creature of legends that has the potential to reach mythic level if it's appropriately nurtured. At the moment, it is just a puppy, but as it absorbs other beasts' essence, grows, and evolves, it will become a beast worthy of its name, chimera."

When Emily finished reading the information about her new beast companion, Alex was too astonished to react.

He had fought chimeras before in his previous life, but they were all epic grade beasts.

Although they were epic and not legendary like the one Emily had, they were formidable creatures whose killing required a hundred-man party at the very least.

It also had to be said that the difference between two grades wasn't always the same; for example, from common to uncommon grade, a beast's overall strength would double, but from uncommon to rare, it would be multiplied by four, and so on.

With that in mind, a beast's overall strength would be multiplied by sixteen if it went from epic to legendary grade and thirty-two for going from legendary to mythic.

So right now, it wasn't strange to assume that the beast in front of them could become sixteen times more powerful than the strongest chimera Alex had fought.

And that wasn't all. The creature even had the potential to go from legendary to mythic rank.

"I have to feed it quality food," mumbled Alex.

If the chimera needed beast essence to evolve, then Alex had to make sure to give it the best to have a good foundation.

But the first thing they had to do was to figure out how the evolution worked.

There were a lot of possible ways that its evolution process could work.

First, it could be temporary. For example, the chimera would eat a beast's essence and gain temporary characteristics of the said beast.

Or it could be perpetual. For example, it would eat a beast's essence, gain the characteristics of the said beast, and stay the same forever.

Besides all that, they didn't know exactly how many beast essences it could absorb before reaching its full capacity.

As Alex was thinking about different possibilities, Emily brought him out of his thoughts and said, "that's not all; there is more."

Alex looked at her and asked, "what do you mean there is more?"

"There is something called evolutionary tree," said Emily.

"what?? what can you see when you click on it?" asked Alex hurriedly.

"There is something like a tree with branches, but I can only see the tree's main body clearly. The rest of it is a blur. The tree is divided into three different side branches at the end of its main body. Skills, physique, DNA. And I can also see the skill branch is divided into passive and active."

"so that's how it is," Alex put his hand under his chin and thought again.

'if the evolutionary path has already been decided, then we don't have much to worry about. The only problem is that we don't know what will determine the next sub-branches.

For example, what will happen if we only get two or three sob branches for passive and active skills, and after that, we could only have the evolution of that said skill?

Aughhhh, I'm overthinking it; let's just decide as we go,' Alex shook his head.

He came out of his thoughts and looked at Emily, who was now surrounded by the kids that wanted to take the chimera in their hand.

"Can I hug him?" asked Lily.

"sure," Sid Emily and gave the little puppy to her.

As they were all looking and taking turns hugging the soft and squishy ball of fur, Alex jumped in, grabbed the little beast out of Sid's hands, and said, "how about we go hunting to see how it will evolve?"

Everybody, including Sid, who thought that the new beast was a disappointment, was excited to see how it would evolve.

They all went back to Alex's suite and then entered the SR (second reality).

Inside the SR, Kate separated from the group and started scouting the area for beasts to hunt.

Not long after, she came back and said, "I found a level 27, uncommon three-tailed fox not far from here."

"nice, an uncommon beast should be good enough food as a starting meal," said Alex and looked at Kate, "show the way."

When they reached the place where Kate had seen the creature, they saw not one but two foxes playing with each other.

"Max, do you want to take it from here?" said Alex as he looked at Max.

He could lead the hunt himself, but his goal wasn't to be a leader at all, so he thought that it was best to give Max every opportunity to lead the group.

Max looked at him as if wanting to know what was going through his mind. Then he turned around to look at the two foxes and started to give orders, "Ryan, you will start the attack and take aggro of one of the foxes; meanwhile, Alex would engage the other one until we finish our hunt and go help him. The kids will only play supporting roles and are not allowed to attack ...."

As Max was explaining the plan, Alex was thinking of how talented of a leader he was.

As a second in command in a relatively big guild, Alex had done his share of leading. But Max was on a whole different level. He was a natural-born leader.

He could lead the team pretty well and almost without any mistakes, even without any prior guidance and practice.

'he really is a genius,' thought Alex as he was looking at Max.

Max, who noticed Alex's peculiar stare, looked at him and said, "what? is there something on my face?"

"it's nothing; I was just thinking," said Alex and then tried to change the subject, "which fox do I get?"

"you will get the one that is level 24; we will attack the other one." Then he looked around and said, "any opinions?"

This was one of the things that Alex admired about Max; he always asked others for their opinions about his plans. Not because he cared about their feelings or thought that his plans were bad, but because he wanted to improve.

He used every chance he could get to improve, and that was why he was one of the most outstanding leaders in the country.

Hello guys

A question:

Do you think the length of the fighting scenes is good, or do you prefer I make them longer and more detailed?
