16. The Beginning of The Aproach

"Why can't you understand me, Dad? I'm your son, right?" Danish stopped walking, his body turned to face him father.

"Yes Danish, you also have to understand the position of Daddy! It is impossible for Daddy to pass the responsibility on to your brother!"

Danish shook his head. "Since Mommy's gone, everything has changed!" he said. He raised his hand and rubbed his face, taking a deep breath. "Danish will think again, Dad. But now I need to be alone!"

His father sighed and then released his grip on his eldest son, letting Danish turn and walk away from the house they had been living in.

A glimpse of the past is present when Daniel remembers the words of his only brother who is going to visit Indonesia. He didn't want Danish's arrival to create another fight with his father, just like when Danish decided to leave and move into him apartment, then move again to a foreign country, according to Father's wishes. That is, Sydney.

Daniel changed his sitting position, laying his body on the sofa. He closed his eyes as he folded his arms over his chest. Daniel tried to get rid of his family's broken past, allowing himself to sleep in the most comfortable position possible on the sofa.

"Wake up, honey!" Mother woke her child who was still struggling with the blanket, it had been fifteen minutes mother shaking Emilly's body but still not getting up. "Wake up, Em, your friend is coming!"

Emilly yawned widely. "Who the hell? I'm sleepy!"

"Eh—who is it? His name is Da--fiel. uh no..."

Emilly glared in surprise, then immediately sat up and looked at her mother. "Don't tell me his name is Daniel?"

Her mother nodded. "Yes, yes. Daniel. Hehehe..."

Emilly immediately got up from the bed. She put her hair in a ponytail, then ran slowly towards the door and pulled the doorknob until it opened. Her feet stepped out of the room.

"You didn't change first, Em? You want to go right? Why are you still wearing your nightgown." Mother's voice shouted from inside Emilly's room.

Emilly slowed her steps when she saw Daniel sitting on the sofa in the living room, and chatting with Doni, her brother. "I need to talk to Daniel first." She said while looking at Daniel sharply.

"Okay, okay." Doni got up from his seat and walked away leaving Emilly with Daniel in the living room.

Emilly sat on a special one-person sofa. "What are you doing here?"

"Because you didn't reply to my messages."

"Oh, so you texted me?"

Smiling, Daniel nodded his head slowly.

"I was busy!"

"Busy sleeping?"

"Ck," squeaked Emilly.

"I'll wait fifteen minutes from now, or tomorrow you will hear the news on campus that we are officially dating!" Daniel cut off Emilly's words quickly.

Emilly jumped in surprise. "Are you crazy?"

"Thirty seconds passed..."

"DANIEL!"

Without thinking for long, Emilly immediately ran towards her room by stomping her feet in annoyance. Why are all guys created just to rule and don't want to know the meaning of rejection.

Emilly was now standing in front of Daniel, panting heavily. Luckily, she had taken a shower this afternoon, so she just needed to wash her face and change her clothes.

"One minute late! You are punished,"

Mother came with a glass of warm tea for her guest, then put it on the table. "Come on, have a drink."

Actually, Daniel wasn't thirsty at all, but because he learned how to visit politely, he took the glass and drank it all down. "Thank you Mom—Eh I mean Auntie." he said as he scratched his non-itchy hair. "I borrowed Auntie's daughter, okay?"

"Yes, but returned intact without the slightest scratch!" said mother, laughing softly.

Emilly pouted when she heard mother's answer. In her heart she grumbled annoyed at Daniel who was looking for attention to his family members. "Mom... am I an item?" spoiled whining.

Mother stroked her youngest child's hair. "Come on! It's getting late," Emilly snorted in annoyance, then grabbed the back of mother's right hand and kissed it. Emilly stepped out of the house first annoyed.

Daniel followed what Emilly did, kissing the back of mother's hand. "I'm leaving, Auntie." he said. He turned and was about to walk after Emilly.

"Be careful."

Daniel smiled faintly then walked back towards the door that was wide open, when he was outside he immediately pulled the door knob and closed it.

"There's a punishment for you." Daniel teases Emilly again.

"Whatever!"

Emilly walked towards the car door, until Daniel pressed the button to unlock the car. Before Daniel had time to speak, Emilly had already entered his black sedan. If only at that time Emilly had no intention of looking at Daniel, who was being made an object of contention for girls, he would not have been disturbed by Daniel until this moment.

During the trip no one made a sound. Daniel was still focused on the road in front of him, while Emilly looked out the window, looking at the view from the car window.

Daniel glanced at Emilly who was still staring outside. "Emilly, why keep quiet?" he said slowly.

"Then you mean I have to laugh or dance Indian in the car?" replied Emilly curtly.

Daniel whining. "That's not what I meant. You're so cute, I want to hug you!" Every now and then his eyes glanced at Emilly who was struggling on her cellphone.

Daniel steered his car through a high gate and stopped him in the courtyard of the house, he got out and circled his car then immediately opened the car door for Emilly. But Emilly didn't scream hysterically or blushed at all of Daniel's sweet treatment of her. Daniel is sweet, but that makes Emilly not dare to open her heart to Daniel or anyone who has a high level of fame. Emilly really avoids it. Emilly's mind also did not cross to get a girlfriend with the same university as her.

Emilly saw a simple house that said "Panti Harapan" above the entrance. "What are we doing here?"

"Dinner! Yes...though not a romantic dinner like you'd expect."

Emilly chuckled and nudged Daniel's arm. "You're stupid! I also don't like romantic dinners like that, especially when you invite me! I really don't want to."

"Oh, yeah? Wow." said Daniel.
