The nerve-calming sounds made by light wind breezes and falling snow were continuous and in harmony, and they worked their magic to relieve the students, who were soon to graduate, of their stress.
However, Eugene V. Samuel, presently a twelfth grader, lacked time to indulge in it, as he was busy avoiding dozens of blown thrown by people around his physical age.
Suddenly, though, they all stepped back from him.
"You sure you want to do this?" Kaiser asked Solar one last time.
Solar cracked his knuckles and directed his eyes brimming with fighting intent toward Eugene, "Yeah, I want to find how strong this person who defeated Allen is."
Kaiser patted his shoulder. "Alright, but be careful. I don't know why Eugene is acting like our tamed horses today, but he is a dangerous guy."
"I got it."
Solar gave him a thumbs up before rushing forward and throwing a punch at Eugene.
However, Eugene, who had seen it coming from a mile away, stepped out of the range of his attack with ease, turned around, and kicked him in the gut.
"Ugh!" Solar, with a face twisted in pain, groaned as he stumbled back and weakly fell on his butt just a step away from Kaiser.
Gunner, standing at Kaiser's left, looked down at Solar and sneered, "You bitch, are you acting, or did he seriously make your legs give up with a single hit?"
Solar glanced at him with squinted eyes; his gritted teeth showed he was in great pain. "T-the rumors about him are true. When he kicked me, I seriously felt that a car smashed me."
His words lowered the morale of the Red Hawks.
Gunner noticed that and immediately shouted at him to stop speaking.
"Stop spewing bullshit, Solar!"
Solar rolled his eyes at him. "If you don't believe me, how about you pick a fight with him and taste it yourself?"
"I'll pass on that." Gunner scoffed at Solar. "I've no masochist tendencies like you."
Solar gave him the middle finger, causing his eyes to twitch.
"I told you to be careful." Kaiser helped Solar up. "Look at how you ended up because of not heeding my advice seriously."
"I didn't know he would see through me and react to my offense with a counter-attack. He didn't run away when he had the chance because he is confident about fighting us because of his skills, Kai."
He hadn't even finished saying that when Eugene, who was kicking their asses, suddenly sprinted away from them.
"This bastard, He is running away after making fun of me. Argh, I wanna kill him!"
Solar glared daggers at Eugene's back, who went into a dark, shady, and smelly alley.
"Why do you think he ran away even though he seemed to be winning against us? You don't know. Yes? Let me tell you. Even if he is strong enough to best Allen and stand his ground against us, he is still human, and his stamina is limited. Sooner or later, while fighting all twelve of us, he will get tired! We just need to tire him out. And then we can take him down."
Kaiser boosted the Red Hawks' dying morale with his words.
However, they didn't know that their boss's speculation was entirely off the mark.
The reason Eugene ran into the Alley was something entirely else!
"What should we do?"
A red hawk eagerly looked at Kai.
"Everyone, give chase."
"I'll get him for sure next time."
Solar promised Kai that he would land a hit on Eugene, but he didn't know he was out of his league. Not even in a thousand years could a kid like him scratch his skin, much less harm him.
Kai nodded, "Alright, but do it by working with others."
A thoughtful look appeared on Solar's face for a few moments before he readily agreed with Kaiser, "Sure, let's abuse him with our numbers."
The Red Hawks foolishly went into the alley they had seen Eugene going into moments ago.
"Hahaha!"
Seeing the three chickens and the seven chicks of the Red Hawks rushing into the Alley, Eugene's expression lit up, and a wide smile blossomed on his face.
However, considering the situation that he was in, his smile and loud laughter came off as somewhat maniacal to the onlookers.
"What the heck is he smiling for?"
His smile creeped out a Red Hawk so much that he stepped back subconsciously, and hearing his roaring laughter filled the rest of them with a sense of uneasiness.
"Is he planning something nefarious?"
"Maybe he is hiding a blade under his cuffs and planning to pull a quickie on us."
"Even if he is, what can he do when so many of us gang up on him?"
"Two hands can't overwhelm four! One Levi can't beat the twelve of us even if he arms himself with a knife."
"According to what I know, Eugene isn't the type to get blood on his hands. He likes to use his hands and feet as weapons. There's no chance he is hiding a blade on his body. You fools should stop overcomplicating his simple acting of laughing and smiling!"
"Gunner is right; Boys, stop fretting like white butt bitches and surround him."
Kaiser gave a meaningful look to Gunner, Solar, and the people behind him, and they immediately tried to approach Eugene.
However, the alley was too narrow.
At most, three people could come up to him at a time.
"Without even knowing what I am capable of, how dare you try to fight me? I've never seen people as stupid as you lot."
Even after seeing them striding toward him with ill intention, Eugene's expression remained as peaceful as a still lake. Not a single ripple appeared in his emotions.
It was like he didn't feel endangered by their threatening glances.
Why was he so calm even though twelve people would assault him?
He was an awakened one with multiple skills, and he was physically and spiritually better than your average human!
Thus, he wasn't afraid to face a bunch of pussies.
"You're the stupid one. You ran into an alley without a way out while with us chasing after you. Now you are caught between a rock and a hard place. There's no way you're getting out of this unharmed. Your legend of being undefeated, we will end it today, right here and right now."
"Oh, really? But I don't think you lots have the capability to do that."
Eugene taunted them so badly that they felt the urge to smack shit his mouth.
"Get this fucker!" Kaiser shouted, and they all took big steps towards him.
"You fools, there exists a big divide between us, a chasm of some sort. The likes of you can never cross it. And unless you cross it, you can't touch even a hair of mine." Eugene focused his mental energy into his eyes, "Let me show you the difference in our strength."
[You've activated the skill, Mental Energy Control!]
Eugene lifted his eyelids and gazed at the Red Hawks charging toward him.
"Rumble, rumble!"
Lightning sizzled across the sky, which was dripping a few too many dots of white as Eugene's mental energy left its resting spot and charged into his eyes, causing a flickering blue flame to appear in the center of his pupils that turned a deeper color of black.
"Whoosh!"
At the same time, as if magic, a sudden blast of blue wind sprang out of his eyes and assaulted his enemies
The wind gusts lifted them and hurled them away from him.
Some fell on their butts like sore losers, while the less lucky ones burst their head because of smashing into a wall.
The young lads, sitting on the ground, stared at Eugene speechlessly, their wide-open jaws threatening to snap and drop to touch the ground.
Their eyes met, and his stare intimidated them so much that they trembled like drenched dogs.
For a moment, they felt like fish on the butcher's plate under his oppressive gaze.
Kaiser, who had been acting strong so far and keeping the Red Hawk's morale up, froze too, as he himself didn't expect that Eugene would be so ridiculously strong that he will defeat them with a gaze.
Eugene was also surprised, not because of the stunt he had just pulled off but because of the notifications that rang in his mind.
[You've gained a +1 increase in the proficiency of your skill, Mental Energy Control!]
[I, God's handcrafted system, congrats you, my Host, for self-creating a mental energy skill!]
[What would you like to name it?]
The move Eugene just used wasn't his original creation but a technique that became common amongst players after the fourth expansion.
As he was a hardcore fan of the Crumbling World, he, of course, participated in all the events of the Fourth expansion.
Due to this, he learned various ways of using mental energy offensively, defensively, and supportively.
What he just used was an offensive way of using mental energy, also known to him as Spiritual Gaze!
"Name it Miniature Dragon's Gaze."
[You've named your self-created skill Miniature Dragon's Gaze.]
[Miniature Dragon's Gaze: You condense mental energy into a single spot in your eyes and shoot it out like solid wind gusts with enough might to send humans flying.]
[Skill Type: Host's Self-Created Skill!]
