"Okay, thanks for the info. Do you plan on staying here?" Yren asked, turning his head back to Mika who gave him a surprised look.
"Huh? You want me to come with you? I can't help you, and I am probably just annoying!" Mika complained, but Yren shrugged.
"Sure, but it must get lonely here. I would feel bad leaving you here if you can come along," Yren said with a grin.
"What? You're not supposed to agree with me!" Mika raged, but then settled down, and said, "But, thanks. I do want to come with you."
Yren smiled, and started to walk, waving for Mika to follow him. Mika frowned, but followed him; she was just excited to leave her room.
Tybrus wasn't big on taking anyone along with him, so Mika was grateful to Yren, but she didn't like his attitude. In her mind, things were going just too easy for him, and he was a pervert that had made fun of her underdeveloped chest.
"So, who is this Blastern person?" Yren asked as he started to walk down another hallway like the one he had entered the dungeon through.
"He is a JadeSkin, and a smith, so you will probably have to go get material for him to craft you an item," Mika explained as she rushed to catch up with Yren as they started walking down another set of stairs.
"Like my dad?" Yren asked curiously, and Mika nodded.
"I think that Blastern taught your dad how to work metal. He could probably teach you, but not until you find him some more," Mika explained as the two reached the landing at the bottom of the stairs.
"Thanks, it was a good idea to bring you along," Yren said with a smile as the two stopped in front of the pure black filled doorway.
"Sure, I just didn't want to wait behind, so I don't mind giving you some advice," Maki said with a smile.
Yren nodded, and walked forward through the black veil, and the room before him appeared as a cave. Mika followed behind him, but then ran past him, running into the cave towards a light and the sounds of a hammer.
Yren knew the sound well and smiled as he jogged to catch up with Mika. This place was completely different then the last room, but Yren had read that the Dungeons had various forms, and some were vastly different then others.
"So, the child of Tybrus has come to visit me!" Called out a loud booming voice as Yren went closer to the light and clunking noise of a hammer up ahead.
"Blastern! He let me come visit you!" Mika exclaimed as she ran around a corner.
Yren followed, and was suddenly in a massive forge carved from stone.
The place was like nothing Yren had ever seen before, but the massive JadeSkin Golem made him freeze in place.
"Woah! How did you get so huge?!" Yren asked with surprise as he stared at the massive green man that was leaning over a massive anvil.
JadeSkin were a type of Golem but they were supposed to be the size of a normal man with high levels of physical damage resistance. This creature was almost twice the size of Yren.
"Uncle Blast is an Expert level monster, so I wouldn't try messing with him, but he is really nice!" Mika said as she ran over to hug the massive Golem's leg.
"I guess this is your first time coming into a dungeon, but you seem very knowledgeable about monsters. Your father wasn't kidding when he said you were a smart one, ha ha!" Blastern laughed with a booming voice that made Yren's inside vibrate.
"I did my best to learn about everything Dungeon related, but coming here makes me think that it was all just a waste of time. Everything that I know seems to be off, like how is a monster able to rank up like an Adventurer?!" Yren asked, feeling at a loss.
All the hard work he had put in to learn about the monsters would still be helpful, but it just felt like a waste.
"A waste? No, not at all. Don't get frustrated with this dungeon, the others you go to will be just as you learned. We are all stronger thanks to your father showing mercy, and a willingness to learn. Each time you complete a quest, we also gain experience, making us stronger," Blastern explained to Yren as he reached down and ruffled Maki's hair and ears.
Yren was curious about what Maki's fur would feel like, but he wasn't in a hurry to die. That thought would have to be shelved until Yren could become a bit closer with her.
"Alright, so then what do you need for me to do? You have a quest for me, right?" Yren asked the JadeSkin, but he was looking at the weapon at Yren's hip.
"Yeah, go get me some ore, and I'll upgrade Omnus. Still surprised your old man gave that up. You know, that was the first weapon that I made for your father, and he refused to let me upgrade it! I am surprised it hasn't broken yet, ha ha!" Blastern boomed out, and Yren looked down at his hip.
"Why wouldn't my father upgrade it? I mean, I didn't know you could upgrade magical items," Yren asked thoughtfully.
"Normally you can't, but I have a skill that lets me," Blastern replied, and Yren looked back down at the weapon, and shook his head.
"No, I don't think that would be right. The weapon is already too strong as it is, but maybe some kind of accessory instead?" Yren asked, and Blastern burst out in a laughter that was so intense that Yren thought he might be sick from the vibrations.
"You know that your old man said the same stupid thing when I asked him! You can never be too strong in this life, boy, but I get it. You will get to a point where even a stick in your hands will become a deadly weapon, but now, to the quest, ha ha!" Blastern laughed.
