My Sister

Kimora watched as the group of men pushed the boy into the back alley and out of the street, which was strangely silent. What she couldn't figure out was why he let them push him into an alley like that?

"Stupid! He is going to get himself robbed! This is the man my father wants me to be interested in?! Gah! That man is so stupid, just like this one!" Kimora growled, but now they had gone out of sight, and she wanted to see what would happen.

Looking around and not seeing anyone, Kimora darted across twenty feet of the empty street over the alley where she could hear voices. They were yelling at each other, but she was having a hard time hearing them.

Wanting a better look, Kimora peaked around the corner wearing her black robe. As she did, one of the men grabbed the boy from behind, and Kimora groaned.

"Pathetic," Kimora said and was about to turn back around, but she was grabbed by rough hands from behind.

A filthy hand went over her mouth before she could react, preventing her from screaming as she was taken into the alley. Fight as she might try, Kimora was far too weak to overpower the man.

Down the street, Clyde stood in his second-floor study window with a glass of a rare vintage, watching this all happen.

"Interesting! The whims of fate are at work here! I wonder how they will turn out?!" Clyde cried out with unrestrained excitement.

This was precisely what he wanted, but using his daughter like this had not been his plan. No, this was a product of her own careless follies, yet, this moment could change everything.

"A chance to carve a new path lies before you, my dear boy, Yren! What will you do? Shall you scorn her the way she will scorned you, or are you a man that stands above with a hand reaching down? What manner of a person are you, Yren?" Clyde pondered as he watched and listened with his many eyes and ears.

Down in the back alley, Yren was making a plan to finish the fight without bloodshed as Casey walked toward him. Then the leader stopped his advance at the sound of some muffled screams coming from the entrance of the alley.

"Boss found this one spying on us. I saw her watching the boy before this, so we had better do something about her," A big man growled as he held a cloaked woman Yren thought he might recognize.

"Eh? Who is she?" The gang leader asked and then turned to look, but Yren was done.

It was one thing to attack him, but bringing a clearly frail girl into the mix was not okay. Before Casy could turn around, Yren smashed his head back into the nose of the large man holding him.

Instantly feeling hot liquid leaking on Yren's neck the man cried out, letting go of his arms. Casey was forced to turn back to Yren, but it was too late as a club formed in Yren's hand.

An upward strike sent the gang leader into the air, and then two more men were knocked out by a swinging staff before Casy hit the ground. Yren switched to a shield and rammed it forward into two men trying to attack with a dagger, knocking them back.

Kimora watched the young man defeat every one of the gang members, but it was like watching someone perform a dance. She had no idea that humans were capable of such grace and strength.

Soon, there was only Yren, Kimora, and a big man holding her. Yren looked over at the man with a patient look, but Kimora could feel the man tremble as he held her.

"Listen, if you let her go, I'll let you go. I mean, that sounds like a good deal, right? Or would you like to join the rest of the trash on the ground?" Yren asked as Omnus became a hit.

Instead of replying, the man pulled out a knife, and suddenly, everything slowed down for Yren. He watched the knife move towards Kimora's neck and covered the distance between them in a blink.

Becoming Rank three had significantly increased his already fast moment, and now he was going to push Omnus to its limits. Yren placed his weapon to block the strike and extended the blade to curve around the girl and land with the blade on the man's neck.

Time snapped back, but now everyone was still as Yren's blade drew blood from the man's neck. The knife dropped out of the man's grip, and he let go of the girl, falling back and away from the blade on his neck.

Kimora had been scared, but the inhuman movement of the boy was just too much for her to process, and she passed out. Yren gently caught her and cradled the girl in one arm but was forced to put his weapon away.

The men behind him had already scurried off, and the one in front was now running, but Yren would not forget them. He would have liked to have tied them up and called the guards, but that was a job for another day.

Yren put away his sword and gently scooped up the robbed girl into his arms. Something had seemed familiar about the girl, and once he had her in his arms, Kimora's hood fell back.

"Yren?! Are you okay?! Wait… Why are you carrying my sister?!" Ginny asked as she ran over from the Guild Hall.

Yren's eyes grew huge as he realized what he had just done and was doing. This was the girl that constantly insulted him from afar and one his mother had told him to stay away from, but it was a little late for that.

"Some people were trying to harass me, but then they grabbed your sister. It seems that she passed out from shock, but I think she is alright. Umm, where does she live? I don't really want to leave her like this," Yren said, and Ginny nodded.

"Yes, the Mayor's house is just over there. I am sure that Mr. Starmond will be very happy that you brought her home!" Ginny explained, and Yren nodded.

"Thanks, I will take her there now," Yren said with a smile and walked off carrying Kimora.
