Glass Of Wine

Yren groaned and walked over to where there was another glass of wine, picking it up. Yren headed over to one of the open plush chairs, taking a seat, careful not to spill the wine.

This was all too much for Yren, and Clyde was just as crazy as Rephilia, but in a different way. Both of them wanted the same thing it seemed, but Yren wondered how the girls felt about this all.

It wasn't like he didn't think they were both attractive, but his connection with Ginny was far stronger. Yren hadn't spent much time with Kimora, and the few interactions they had never turned out well for him.

"What do your daughters think about this? I just met them, and I think it is a little fast to be deciding their fates for them. I also have more questions," Yren explained, and Clyde nodded and took a chair next to Yren.

"You are more courteous than I could have wished! Ah, that father of yours did a fine job, but I do agree that this is a fated arrangement," Clyde relished, but became serious, turning to Yren and saying, "There is a reason why your father told you to be wary of my daughter this afternoon. He already knows what we are, but I don't think he knows that we do. What do you think of all this, Yren?"

Clyde asked his last question with a smile, but Yren wasn't sure what he meant. Something was missing here, but Yren was having trouble putting all the pieces together.

"Really? They didn't tell you what I was yet? Well, this is a bit rich, but not your or their fault. We don't have a good past, nor reputation," Clyde said with a slight smile, but Yren was on his feet instantly with the hilt of Omnus in hand.

"Demon!" Yren growled, his heart racing.

"Sit down, and put Omnus away. Did your father not at least teach you of our strength?" Clyde asked in a voice that was too calm, making Yren's blood run cold.

If this creature wanted to kill Yren, he would have been dead already, according to his father. Tybrus had said that not even he was close to a match for a Demon, so Yren stood no chance.

"Don't worry! I did not bring you here to scare or intimidate you! Sorry!" Clyde said in a self-deprecating voice while bowing his head to Yren.

Yren blinked and wasn't sure if this was better. What was going on here?

"What are you doing?! You must know what I am, so why are you revealing yourself to me?!" Yren asked in confusion, feeling like he was losing his mind.

"Please, sit down and have a drink. I will explain things since I think that you are the only one that can mediate this," Clyde explained to Yren, and he sat back down slowly, never taking his eyes off the Demon.

Everything he had just learned about Demons was being stretched thin in Yren's mind.

"You look confused, so let me clarify something. Other Demons are not like me, and I am what you would call an outcast among my own kind. I am one of the only Demons that bedded a human woman and produced a child," Clyde explained.

"Why? What is your goal?" Yren asked without thinking.

"Very good, a man that gets straight to the point! I like that! I am sure you know about the war to a degree, but long story short, Demons are in few numbers right now. I think that we are headed for another war in the future, but I don't want that to happen. The prejudice of the Demons has always been their distaste for the weak, and even Gods were no match for us one on one," Clyde explained, and Yren listened carefully but was confused.

"There is no reason for you to keep me alive that I can see if you were lying. Still, don't you think that you will just win and subjugate another world? Not that I want it to happen, but if we can't rise up, that seems the path," Yren said, and Clyde's expression became sad as he nodded.

"Yes, and we will scorch another world and repeat the cycle, but it doesn't have to be this way. There was a time when both Gods and Demons were both revered and loved as benevolent rulers that provided for their people! I won't bore you with the details, but you and the girls are going to be the unifying light going forward!" Clyde declared, but Yren narrowed his eyes.

"What do you plan to do?" Yren asked with suspicion, and Clyde grinned.

"What if I told you there was a way to release the humans and gods trapped inside the dungeons? And that when you did, the dungeons would revert back to normal dungeons with amazing rewards like nothing you could ever dream of!" Clyde exclaimed, and Yren's eyes got big.

The idea of getting everyone out of the dungeon was more than he could have imagined, but it was the second part that made his blood pump. There was something about the Dungeons that made Yren excited.

"You mean that the Dungeons will just have normal monsters in them?" Yren asked, leaning into Clyde, momentarily forgetting the man was a Demon.

"Oh? This is the part that intrigues you the most? Then what about this? If you can get my daughter into the dungeon and clear your father's Dungeon, I will unlock it. I will also share all the knowledge I have learned about the Dungeons. How does that sound?" Clyde asked with a growing smile.

"Wait, wait, wait! Don't try to bribe me with something that I want!" Yren declared, leaning back in the chair, but Clyde laughed after taking a sip of his wine.

"Is that not what a bribe is? Still, I have not really been clear. This is to unite all the races, and once I unlock a Dungeon, I will become an enemy of every Demon left in this world. This was your fate the moment your father chose your mother, just the same as Kimora," Clyde explained, and Yren took his first long drink from the glass of wine.
