Yren was frozen in place, and it wasn't because two monstrous women that looked far too similar and a Demon just entered.
No this was far worse; Kimora and Ginny were with them.
Yren's head boiled in embarrassment as the girls looked around the wooden shack he had grown to call his home. After seeing the Mayor's house which was like a palace, Yren was feeling very self-conscious.
Clyde picked up on this and cleared his throat, and then to Yren's shock, he bowed at the waist. Yren could see that his father was just as shocked as him, as shown by his wide eyes.
"I would like to apologize to the two of you," Clyde said and rose from his bow before continuing with, "My reluctance to trust you, Tybrus is the cause of it, but your son has proved to me that you are both worthy of my trust! No… I should be asking if I am worthy of your trust!"
"What?! What did I do?" Yren asked in surprise.
"Is it true that you thought up a brand new weapon just for me?!" Kimora shouted, shocking everyone.
"I thought someone would have already thought of it, but I am going to get it designed tonight for you," Yren said and then kicked his father.
"Oh! Yes, I will get to work on whatever nonsense my son is talking about, haha!" Tybrus said with a laugh, but the other five remained serious.
"This is not nonsense. The fact that it is so simple and uses the most basic items is beyond impressive! Simply wonderful!" Rephilia said, clenching her fist.
"Hey!" Tybrus growled and rounded on his son.
"Don't look at me like that! It's simple, and should take you no time! Plus, you already agreed, and you don't want to disappoint your only son that you have forced to live in squalor!" Yren growled, and Tybrus rolled his eyes.
There weren't enough chairs, so Clyde used something called Spatial Magic to drop a pair of large plush sofas for everyone. After being seated, Yren explained the weapon, and everyone listened intently.
"If weight is a problem, we can put a retract Jewel in it so it only opens up to a bow when it is active," Tybrus said after listening, and then grinned, looking at his son with a girl on each side.
"So, what is the other reason for trusting me? Not just because I thought of a weapon; that happened after," Yren asked.
"I heard your talk with my daughter, Kimora. Strengths, I had never thought of them the way you described them. Then my daughter came and asked me what I thought of Yren, and we both agreed that he was very strange," Clyde said with a chuckle.
Yren winced, and Ginny put a hand over her mouth to hold her laughter.
"You could say that again!" Rephilia said with a laugh, slapping Clyde's back.
"Hey!" Yren yelled, and Ginny burst out laughing.
"Yeah, the boy had always been a bit of a strange duckling," Tybrus said and then took a long drink.
"You all know I am sitting right here, right?!" Yren complained, and even Kimora started to laugh.
This surprised everyone, But Inna took over the spotlight so she didn't get embarrassed.
"The new young master is very strong and repels my every advance. I shall have to use more advanced tactics from now on," Inna said with a look that was far too calm for the implications of those words.
"Better you than me!" Tybrus laughed.
"That is because you are faster, but the young master is still learning. I still have a chance to catch him!" Inna said with determination, making both girls glare daggers, but Inna paid them no mind.
"So, what does this mean?" Tybrus asked after everyone settled down.
"That is a very good question, but I think we should take it slow, and not inform anyone until we can prove what we are doing will work. We will bring in more people before Mira's dungeon is cleared, because once we start, we will have to move fast. We will need enough Gods and strong humans to stand united if we are to keep them from starting a war. Then slowly work on bringing everyone together. That is the only path that I can see working," Clyde explained, and the room went quiet.
Yren knew this was the right path, but he couldn't help but worry about the future. Kimora now seemed on board, but he had no idea what the movements of the other Demons were like.
"How likely is another Demon to come to this village? And if so, when is the next visit?" Yren asked, and Clyde grinned, snapping his finger.
"Very good question! We have three months to prepare! Then we will have to try to win over the inspector when they come with overwhelming force! That is the only thing that we truly respect! If we can manage to do that, then there is a chance for talks in the future, but they will know I am the one opening the Dungeons," Clyde explained, and Yren nodded thoughtfully.
"I see what you mean, but we will figure this out, we have to. Mistakes were made in the past, and we can't change them. The only thing we can do is move forward and stop the cycle like you said," Yren said, and then let out a yawn.
"I think it is about time to get going. Yren has had a long day, but I would ask that he comes and lives at the manor. I know that you probably have fond memories of this place, and you don't want to be separated from your dear and loving father!" Clyde said dramatically.
"Sure, I'll start packing," Yren said as he stood and walked down the hallway.
"Wha?!" Clyde asked in surprise.
"Sure, I will go help him pack," Tybrus said, following his son.
"You too?!" Clyde exclaimed.
"Packed," Both Yren and Tybrus said after coming back with two wooden milk crates half full.
"So fast and so little?!" Clyde yelled in despair.
