Episode 58. Teacher's Time

In the afternoon, during the lunch break, the 1st-year teachers of physical class gathered in the teacher's room to talk about IMPORTANT things.

At the square table, we sat and stared nonchalantly at the person who proposed this idea.

"So, what are we going to do, Tasya?" Xander asked Tasya who had a bright smile on her face.

"Hmm(grunts)... So, why did you gather us here?" Samuel, who usually smiled, now looked tired.

"I hope this isn't something a waste of time, right?" Erika looked at Tasya with low expectations.

I didn't give any words to Tasya. Sometimes silence is the best answer.

"Please, don't get mad. I haven't even said anything and already got so much blasphemed!" Tasha pursed her lips.

"Well, because you always say you are going to help but in the end, you always make everything more worse." Erika's hopes for Tasya are getting lower.

"Hmm(nods), that's true." Xander and Samuel nodded in agreement with Erika's statement.

From what I see, both of them already see how bad Tasya's help idea is.

Sometimes, I think once in a while. 'How could Tasya pass the test?' That question remains unanswered to this day.

"You guys are so cruel..." now she is whining.

Her face looked at me while hoping my help will come. "W-what?" I said while trying to look confused with the meaning of that look.

"He-help me...!" She whined at me using a cute face.

Actually, I, who also experienced Tasya's foolishness didn't have the slightest hope when I came here.

Without answering, I just turned my head to the side indicating that I also agreed with them.

Now no one is by her side. Her last hope had been gone, but she wasn't easily giving up just because of that.

Her hands gripped tightly and lifted upwards.

"Then, look at this!" Tasya said straight to the point.

She took out a paper filled with casual questions.

"Let's talk about each other's wish or secret!" She said again, but now with sparkling eyes.

I glanced at the other teacher.

Their gazes seemed to have anticipated this.

They weren't surprised at all.

Shortly after, Xander stretched his back and tried to get the most relaxed sitting position.

"Hmm(smiles holding his chin), looks like this will be interesting!" Xander seemed interested in this conversation.

"Somehow, I feel bad about this idea! But at the same time, I'm also curious." Erika swallowed her saliva.

"Exam preparation stresses me out, maybe this will be some entertainment for us!" Samuel agreed.

I also nodded in agreement with them.

We shouldn't be too focused on exams and forget about taking breaks.

"Since you all seem to agree, let's get started!" Tasya lifted the paper excitedly.

"Wait, isn't it a bit boring just asking like that? Why not just make it a game, who loses, they have to answer questions honestly!" Erika talks out her thoughts to Tasya.

I don't know if it's just my feelings or not, but earlier I saw Erika glance slightly at me when she said the word 'Honestly'.

"Woah, that's right, Erika!" (Samuel)

"That's right, it would seem strange if we were suddenly asked a question. But... what game are we going to play?" (Xander)

"What about the cards. later, one of us will ask the name of number or numeral, and those who get the card according to what the questioner says, then they have to answer that person's question." (Tasha)

"Sounds simple, but what do you mean by numerals is like primes numeral, odd numeral, even numeral, and roots number, isn't?" Erika questioned the rules of the game more deeply.

"Yes, that's right, therefore, those who ask may ask more than one person!" (Tasya)

Looks simple but can trap the questioner, this is the rule of this game.

If we want to ask specific people, we can just mention odd/even or prime numbers, but it's a different story if the targeted person turns out to be a different number.

"How about aces, kings, queens, and jokers?" I asked to be sure.

Tasya looked at me confusedly, but it seemed that I wasn't the only one confused.

The other teachers also noticed and started to get confused.

"I don't use a bridge card..." (Tasya)

"Then what kind of card?" Samuel asked in confusion.

"Tarot cards," that short teacher said flatly.

Silence approached the place.

"Think of it as normal, Samuel!" Samuel thumped himself in the chest.

"Never mind, as long as the card can be used, I will don't mind anything weird! And the one who will ask first is Tasya because she was the one of this idea." Xander straightened the conversation.

"Alright then, let's shuffle this card!" Tasya said excitedly after her name was called while shuffling the 22 tarot cards.

SLAP SLAP SLAP

When the shuffling was over, she spread the cards out while gesturing for us to take them.

"Take it!" She said while handing me a card.

I am not a complicated person, so I will choose the far left side.

Hopefully, it's not a scary number. And why is this even like fortune-telling?

"For some reason, taking this card is like trying a wheel of fortune." Erika also thinks the same as me.

"This is the fun of this game!" Tasya said while making a big smile.

---

---

I got 'The Judgment' card and what makes it worse is it's reversed.

What bad omen will come to me?

They had all gotten their cards, and Tasya's eyes were already shining with questions.

"Seems like that's all, since this is the first question, then I'll just ask something easy... Odd NUMBER! For example, if you get a free vacation ticket, where would you go?!" Tasya said the question she had written on the paper.

Just the first question is already difficult like this. It may seem easy for them, but for me, it is very difficult.

But fortunately, the judgment was an even number.

They all showed their cards on the table after hearing Tasya's question.

Judging from this, the ones who got odd cards were Erika and Xander.

The Hermit for Erika and The Chariot(reverse) for Xander.

while Samuel got The Tower card.

I honestly don't know what those cards mean. But judging by the pictures, maybe something good will happen to them?

Xander scrunched his face and caught his breath.

"If it's a vacation, huh?...Hmm(thinking), I prefer to go to a villa in the mountains and play with my family." Xander replied normally.

"Va-vacation?... I just want to go out with someone I love, as long as I can be with him, it was enough for me." Erika answered with some kind of code.

But from their point of view.

They seemed to understand Erika's meaning.

'I'd better pretend I don't know.'

"Wow...! What a beautiful dream, Sis Erika!" (Tasya)

"Th-that's just a normal wish!" Erika blushed and turned her face away.

"Ehmm(clear his throat), seems everyone has answered your question. Then, let's continue!" (Xander)

"So now, between Erika and Xander?!" Tasya was confused in choosing.

"Why not choose the one who answers at the last?" Xander's suggestion.

"Okay, I don't mind either..." Erika agreed.

Erika took back the cards that had been dealt and shuffled them again.

She handed it over and told us to take it.

I have a bad feeling, I'll just choose a different place.

Now, the card that was in the middle of the line that the one will I choose.

There was a slightly surprised look on her face when I took the part.

I pulled out the card and opened it in secret.

The Fool...

A safe number, there was no way she would guess.

"Then, for number that has 0 in it! In your opinion, what type of partner do you want?" Erika asked for something related to romance.

The teachers show the cards on the table.

How could she be right? Did she intentionally put a number that has 0 on every side of the card?

More or less, she put the numbers 10 and 20 on every side and 0 in the middle.

My simplicity might be the reason why she can plan it.

Tasya, who took the far left card, got 10 'The Fortune'.

Samuel got The Devil.

Xander got The World.

'It turned out to be like that...'

"Ehmm... I'll go first because I can't possibly ask anymore!" Tasya voluntarily raised her hand.

"About a partner, I want him to be rich, have a good face, and have a smart mind!" She said it a bit stupidly.

They all fell silent when hearing Tasya's wish.

This is a common thing.

"Yet it's impossible..." Erika objected to Tasya's dream.

Tasya's face immediately turned into a whimper but no one cared.

"Mr. Rasyid, how about you?" Erika turned to me with a curious look.

"What kind of girl do I want? ... I don't know... Maybe a sadistic- I mean an animal lover." I said something that I almost misunderstood.

"Animal lover? A-ah...!" All silent.

Looks like I got it wrong again.

"Ra-Rasyid, you're not talking about your masochist behavior, are you?" Erika tried to ask shyly.

"Eh?!" I am surprised. "It's not like that... I really like animals, especially chickens!" I need to get this straight right away.

I didn't expect them to think that I liked being treated as an animal.

"Chicken?" Tasha tilted her head.

"Aren't they cute, especially when they walk? When you think about them, the way they walk is cute!" I expressed my love for the animal.

"Hmm, that's right... If you think about it, the way the chicken walked was funny." Tasya's drooling face was written there as she imagined it.

She's still thinking about chickens, right? Not after it gets cooked!

'I hope so.'

"Looks like all the questions have been answered." Xander reminded us. "So, let's shuffle the card again, and this time it's your turn, Rasyid!" He looked at me with a relaxed look.

I collect the cards that have been drawn and the others in Erika's hand.

Actually shuffling the cards is not my forte, the possibility of a reverse would be high because of my shuffle.

SHUFFLE! SHUFFLE! SHUFFLE!

When the shuffling was enough, I handed them the card.

I don't know what's in there. Everything happens randomly.

Xander and Samuel took the side, and Erika tried to take the part that is at second far from my right side.

Tasya looked confused at which card she would choose, but it happened temporarily.

Her face immediately lit up after seeing the card she was looking for.

'I really don't know how this girl thinks.'

I looked at those who were nervous when I wanted to ask.

My eyes began to trace their cards and I slowly closed my eyes.

"Prime numbers, I have a question... What is your reason when becoming a teacher," I said while my eyes were still closed.

The teachers were surprised and put their cards on the table.

Erika got The Magician(Reversed)

Xander gets The Hierophant(Reversed)

Tasya got The Empress(Reversed)

Samuel got The Sun(Reversed)

They are all prime and reversed.

'What have I done?'

But they didn't look at me suspiciously. They even prepared to answer my questions.

"It's great that you can ask all of us," Xander said with a formal smile.

"No, this is a complete coincidence." I deny it.

This is the real thing.

"About your question, let me start with. My goal of becoming a teacher even though I am an authoritative Earl is because of my father. To be honest, I want to make people who have such traits realize that making mistakes is a common thing." Xander's formal smile turned sour after saying about his father.

He still kept secrets in his words, there was some word that had not been exposed in his sentences.

But if it's really embarrassing, then I just keep quiet.

"And now it's my turn, I want to continue my master's ability to the next generation." Samuel put on a big smile, but that smile didn't last long. "My teacher did not have time to continue his knowledge because at that time he was too old, so because of that. I am ready to continue it!" Samuel looked at an empty vial of Anitya in the palm of his hand.

"Now it's my time, I become a teacher because I want to get recognition. My family never thought I existed. Of course, they didn't bully me, but if I was being exiled. it would also make me suffer. Therefore, I want to them to recognize me!" Tasya, who usually smiled, now had a face full of ambition.

"And for my reasons, knowledge is useless if it is not taught to the next generation, so is my will, if I get used to holding my bow against the weak. Then I will never experience more things. As long as I can wield the bow and compete in the arena to meet unique opponents, that's enough." Erika becomes very poetic despite being disconnected.

'What the hell is she talking about?'

That's all I want to hear.

They have a reason to be a teacher.

They bring their belief, ambition, and passion to their teaching role.

'As for me... I don't even know what I'm here for!' In my h,eart it hurts a lot.

I don't know why I came here. All I remember is that person asked me to teach here.

"Ehm!" Xander's sigh brought me back to my world.

"Can we continue?" He looked at me who was dreaming.

"U-uh yes!" I'm tired.

This is the first time this has happened.

"No, let's just stop. Because break time is about to end!" Tasya swiftly stopped her game before class started.

"Woah, time goes fast?!" (Samuel)

"We're to having fun." (Xander)

"Hopefully we are not late to attend the class!" (Erika)

They all rushed to their tables to get their equipment and then left after it.

Sitting here.

I am realize.

There's still something bothering me.

"The tarot cards earlier... Everything is reversed!" I have a bad feeling.

Better not to think about it deeply, this is just a game made by the short random woman.
