Episode 60. Prologue for Exams pt. 1

Today is an important day for students.

Their intelligence, accuracy, skills, and most importantly their morals are being tested by this school to get their minimum score.

The first day is a test question.

For them, the test question is the easiest test among the other 5 tests of this week. They don't have to think much about strategy or what power they should use. As long as they answered correctly then they would be safe.

...

In the morning at 4 am, I and nine other teachers who had been chosen to be Princess Tyas' bodyguards had gathered in the principal's room.

There, I stood at the very front of them and faced Bahar who was sitting relaxed on his chair.

"Your choice is a little strange, but by looking at their faces..." Bahar spoke softly to me while looking at the guards I chose. "...Your choice is good too." He congratulated me.

"Hmm(nods)" I didn't say anything other than nodding and smiling at this person.

It's like a habit between the two of us.

Shortly after, Bahar stood up from his chair and walked toward the teachers who had been chosen to be bodyguards.

At the same time, I took a step back to return to the line of guards.

CLAP CLAP CLAP!

Bahar claps in front of them.

"Congratulations for all of you for being chosen to be Princess Tyas' bodyguards in this exam." Bahar gives a warm greeting to them.

"It will be an honor for you to have been trusted to be the bodyguard of the royal family!" Bahar gave a sharp look to the guards on his right.

"But..." Bahar held back his sentence. "...You know, right? Why does our school choose so many bodyguards? This amount almost half of the teachers at this school have become bodyguards!" Bahar's eyeballs slowly moved from right to left to meet every face of the guards.

"Yes, sir!" (The guards in unison)

The satisfaction on Bahar's face clearly showed that he believed in them.

"Then... Natesh, Widodo, Candra, Rasputra, Rasyid, Ryan, Vicky, Linda, Tasya, and Xander. All of you may go!" Bahar called our names one by one according to the position of our line.

"Yes, sir!" (All bodyguards)

With that, we disbanded and left the cramped room.

...

The room was now empty and Bahar is the only one who was sitting in this room.

"Come in!" But Bahar felt it.

A presence that refuses to leave.

"Thank you for accepting my appearance, Mr. Bahar." The old man said thank you to Bahar even though he was the same old.

Strong, tall, dark-skinned, and wearing all-white clothes. A cowboy hat and sunglasses adorn the man's head.

Point of View: Saiful Baharudin

I sensed that person's presence, yes... He was a very dangerous person. If I try to ignore it then I don't know what will happen.

I walked back to my chair and sat there staring at the man who refused to sit with me.

"Why don't you sit down?" I asked carefully.

"It's just a while... This is related to yesterday's kidnapping incident!" He crossed his arms and looked at me with a very optimistic smile.

"I've been hiding this incident. Now no one media will take after this incident!" I turned my chair and turned my body away from him.

"That's not the case. What I want to ask is... At that time, you sent me to come before the teachers came, didn't you?" He tried to walk beside me so I could see where he was.

"But by the time I got there... All that was left were the bound students and the guards who fainted from being brutally electrocuted." Even though his eyes were covered by sunglasses, his sharp gaze could be seen just by the way he spoke.

When this person said that, I remembered one person who could do that. Sweat was pouring down my face. Did he do it?

"When I check the condition of that damn factory... There was a lot of blood and traces of ice, lightning, wind, and water magic there!" From the tone of his voice, he was completely confused as to what was happening.

"Hah?!" I was taken aback by this person's statement.

Ice magic, lightning. wind and water? Who the hell can do that? I didn't believe what he said at first, but when this person is the one who said it. Then it must be true. Because this person... Could detect it.

Are the students saved by a mysterious organization and demand a fee from us later?

"From your confused face... I guess you don't know either, do you?" He noticed my confusion and walked back to his original position.

Was it really him who did it? But when I recalled, he was just a slave of Nova and only moved under that old lady's orders. And after all, it was impossible for him to actually be able to use all the elements. More precisely, it was impossible.

Anitya is designed to have only 2 elements. 3 can happen only when the owner of Anitya has the elements of ice and fire. Then, who exactly is that person?

"Widodo..." I said that person's name.

"What?" He casually looked at me.

"You'd better not look any further!"

"Why?"

"The more you dig about it, the more danger will come. Continuing the investigation means digging your own grave!"

"Calm down, Bahar! Things like this... It's happened often, hasn't it?"

"This is too late! If you-(cut off by Widodo's voice)

"You're thinking too much, Bahar! After all, the person I suspect is the teacher here! There's no way I'd be in any danger."

"The teacher here?"

Did he mean... Was that person?

When removing Rasyid's name from the list of suspicious people at this school. Then, there is only one person who will become the main suspect.

Zarbeth Paniati...

She's the only one who can cast all kinds of elemental magic in this entire Nusantara.

"Then, I'll excuse myself, Bahar!" With that, Widodo left me who was still gawking in disbelief.

But what weighs on my mind is... Why did that old granny go all the way to do this?

What's the point?

Silence flowed into the room.

......

Point of View: Rasyid Londerik

Near the teacher's cafe, the guards bought breakfast because they didn't have time.

Unfortunately, I came to this school with a full stomach. So I'm just glaring at those who haven't had breakfast at this table.

"You're not eating?" Xander who was sitting in a circle with me asked.

"I've already had breakfast before coming here," I said flatly.

"For Mr. Rasyid is like a habit... Going in the morning has become an everyday life thing. So he is getting used to situations like this!" Tasya, who was used to seeing me appear in the school at early in the morning, patted my back.

"It's been more than a month since you've worked here, and that trait hasn't gone away yet? You seem like an obedient person, don't you, Syid?" Praise leaked out from inside Xander's mouth but at the same time, it sounded like mockery.

I always follow the rules just because of my situation as Nova's subordinate. I had to get used to punctuality in order to align my missions. If I'm late in completing my mission, then new missions will keep coming out before I complete them. And it will continue to pile up if I let it continue.

"Oh, Ryan..." Tasya called the person on the other side. "I heard you're good at cars... Can you fix my car?"

Tasya hasn't done anything yet, straight to the point. Ryan who heard the woman's request just kept his blushing face away from the woman. He doesn't seem like a good communicator like me. There must be a problem that makes it like that.

Shortly after, his blushing face turned and met mine. Again he turned his head to the other way. There was a bad feeling when he saw me. The look on his face was like that of severe trauma.

Is... He's one of the relatives of my victims?

That's possible.

To dispel this hunch, I tried talking to Xander.

"Mr. Xander, what relationship do you have with Princess Tyas?" I asked him a question.

"Heh?! Relationship?!" Xander was suddenly taken aback by my question and a sad look was also being hidden on his face.

"Mr. Rasyid, don't you know?!" Tasya, who had pleaded with Ryan earlier, had instead entered my conversation.

"Not?" I shook my head.

"Princess Tyas is his fiancé!" Tasya smiled while pointing at the man in his 30s.

No surprised face came out of me. It seems I've seen something like this before. But where?

"You're not surprised?" Ryan, who had turned his face away from me, suddenly asked me.

"No, not at all." Flatly, I said that I didn't know at all.

This will be something interesting, even though I don't know how interesting the ending will be. So this is the reason why Xander's name was given a blue line back then. The only problem in this engagement case is how Xander responded to my question earlier.

That sad face... Makes me wonder.
